Despite what Trump claims, he will not veto anything the Democrats pass. He will not deny voters free stuff and allow Democrats to exploit that as a campaign issue in 2028. He will give Democrats everything they want so he can blame Congress for the economic disaster that ensues.
Global air travel remains near record highs despite the massive disruptions caused by the Iran war...
COVID showed us what real oil demand destruction looks like...
We're not seeing anything remotely similar today.
China's dedollarization continues... Zambia is selling some copper sales to china in yuan
Zambia is also discussing yuan-denominated loans and a currency swap agreement with China.
Meanwhile, China is the world's largest copper consumer and controls a significant share of the global processing and refining industry.
For decades, the West outsourced its industrial base to China... Now China is leveraging its dominance in the physical world to expand the yuan's role in global commodity trade.
And as global commodity trade gradually moves away from the dollar, so does a source of structural demand for the currency and USTs
The West is losing control of the physical world... And increasingly, the financial system built around it.
For decades, the US and the West have underinvested in the physical world while offshoring their manufacturing base to Asia, particularly China.
Now they are waking up to the reality that they have become dangerously dependent on the very countries they spent decades outsourcing production to.
At the same time, they are promising an unprecedented AI buildout...
without the physical infrastructure to support it
Electricity requires power plants, transformers, transmission lines, copper, steel, skilled workers, and years of construction.
These are physical constraints that cannot simply be solved by printing more money.
In fact, attempting to rebuild decades of neglected infrastructure while simultaneously expanding AI capacity will increase demand for scarce materials, labor, and capital.
That means higher costs, greater inflationary pressure and higher interest rates.
You cannot build a digital future without first rebuilding the physical world.
And the West is only beginning to understand that reality.
Brace for inflation
The odds of the Democrats winning the Senate are now 71%, a new high. If the stock market crashes on Monday expect those odds to rise further. The problem for Republicans is that they have to lie that a bad economy is good. Democrats just have to lie that they can make it better.
>Iran sells diesel to Russia
>Russia sells diesel to US
>US sells diesel to Europe
Europe is buying Iranian diesel through the transitive property
Global copper mine production fell 1.1% in the first half of 2026...
Ore grades are declining, major mines are facing disruptions, and new projects are struggling to offset production losses.
The ICSG just downgraded its full-year production growth forecast again... From 1.6% to just 1.3%.
Meanwhile, demand for copper continues to grow, driven by power grids, AI data centers, and electrification.
In other words, the world needs more copper, but increasing production is becoming increasingly difficult.
And unlike fiat currencies, you can't print copper.
We don't own enough copper for what's coming.
Oil rose another 2.5% today. It's almost $104. If you think gas prices are high now, just wait until after the midterms when Trump has to turn off the spigots from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to keep it from running dry. Oil could hit $150, sending gas prices to record highs.
Russia gets Ukraine
China gets Taiwan
Iran gets Kuwait
Kim gets South Korea
Trump gets Canada
Would you make this deal? This is an incredible deal, the best deal
No one else makes deals like this
My electricity bill for my primary residence was 24% higher in Oct. 2026 than it was in Oct. 2025. It's the same house with all the same appliances. This isn't what happens in an economy where the inflation rate is anywhere near 2%. That's just one bill. They're all going way up

At this point it's Republicans who have TDS. During the first two years of Trump, GDP and job growth are slower, while inflation, budget and trade deficits are higher, than during Biden's last two . Yet they credit Trump for a booming economy while ignoring blatant corruption.
Japanese yields are surging as the BOJ signals it will continue raising rates.
This comes as import prices in yen are up a brutal 25% YoY...
Yet the BOJ's policy rate sits at a ridiculous 1.25%.
With debt exceeding 200% of GDP, Japan can't afford to seriously fight inflation.
Higher rates would blow up its fiscal situation.
Instead, Japan focused on selling USTs to support the yen... Making Japans problem to Americas problem
Either the US prints to support Japan, or Japan sells USTs and the US has to print to pay the additional interest expenses.
Either way, we don't own enough gold for what's coming.
