Absolutely delighted to have passed my #PhD viva on Friday. Had some great discussions!
Here's an insight into the first stage of the post Viva celebration...#phdlife#powerdown

It's been a damp and dull day in #Westport. Ideal sunbathing weather for Sea Slaters. These critters are usually found under rocks and in crevices but if the #irishsummer weather suits....
Check out this lovely documentary and escape to Rockabill island on a dark winter evening. It's a great story of a successful #Irish#wildlife#conservation project.
Rockabill doc is online!
A real conservation success story. Tiny island. Rare seabirds. Lighthouse. 2 wardens.
I worked there in 2015 & documented everything I could.
It's been touring film festivals for the last year, check it out now:

Brilliant #marine#ecology content on @BBCSpringwatch#Autumnwatch last night! Bobtail squid, long-lived bivalves and mermaid's purses. Reminded me that we found what I thought was a Flapper skate egg case when back up in #Shetland in march. Amazing animals #Greateggcasehunt
Check out a PhD project exploring the ecology of Irish tunas in collaboration between @tcddublin@MarineInst@GMITOfficial and AZTI (Spain). The project is funded by the Cullen Fellowship program. #Cullens#tuna#PhD
Found these beautiful blue-rayed limpets whilst #rockpooling in the kelp beds of #westcork last Friday. So much #wildlife to be found around the coast of Ireland if you care to look. Sometimes you just need to stick your head in and root around! @Irishwildlife
#WorldAlbatrossDay yesterday but I didn't get chance to post. In a former life I worked as a fisheries observer on vessels fishing for krill in the the Southern Ocean. Had some amazing wildlife encounters. Feels a world away from my desk-based #Fisheries#modelling PhD right now!
Nothing beats seeing animals in their natural habitat but zoos play a key role in conservation as well as increasing awareness of nature and environmental issues.Ya lure them in with the cute meerkats, then BOOM! Hit 'em with climate change facts #scicomm#ClimateCrisis
So I’ve decided to properly return to twitter and to start myself off again I’m going to do a weekly #throwbackthursday series of my time as a visitor engagement ranger at @wellingtonzoo where I worked this time last year! Prepare for lots of #conservation and #nature talk!🌿1/2
A young fox casually trotted down the road towards me yesterday as I was taking a pic of a wren at Lough Atalia. Crazy to see a fox wandering around in the middle of the day! Great to see the back end of a stoat disappear into the thicket just after as well #galwaywildlife
