(Happily) lost a fair bit of hair 'tinkering' in various startups. Losing even more raising two kids. Co-founder at @notchvfx. In NZ. (Opinions are my own)
@henrycooke Call me cynical, but FPP has served the Conservatives very well over many elections (especially in small constituency rural areas), so I don't think they will be rushing out of the gate to tear it down.
@henrycooke This is a very odd chart. If Reform and Conservatives are getting stacked on the chart, I think it is only fair that Labour and Lib Dems are too.
A One-Nation tory has about as much alignment with Reform as a Labour member does with the Lib Dems.
@frankritchie Number one on the list... stopping the decline in childhood immunisation rates. That's a mind shift that we can all individually and collectively have an impact on.

@chrisluxonmp I seem to recall the last govt was proposing the same thing. So I'm not sure where the 'they now have a government taking serious steps' comes from. https://t.co/8VqhyQnmHu
Today, we're happy to announce the release of a new version of the NotchLC Adobe plugin for macOS, bringing native support for Apple Silicon.
The update is available from the NotchLC website now: https://t.co/2gqMEYhclv
@StuartBDonovan I think we also need to decide if we are looking for business to be developing property or owning it and not conflating the two aspects. I'd much prefer to be incentivising properrty development with tax breaks than ownership.
@StuartBDonovan All sorts of investment classes have different tax rules in NZ. The argument that it brings consistency is a red herring imho. Also, it's the consitency with private investors (i.e. owner dwellers) that is required to increase home ownership (the better outcome).
@Thoughtfulnz@cetier1 Does the original critiqued statement made by Bloomfield, Baker and NZ Doctor take into account death rates by ages? @Thoughtfulnz i.e. Is Gibson comparing apples with oranges?
@cetier1 Some valid critiques in this paper, if not a little 'axe-grindy' in tone. Got to hope it is included in Royal Comission.
For those not reading the full paper: the population growth adjustment moves the excess death rate as per this chart (only 36 countries in dataset).
@Pukeko65@nzherald So true. Thats why its interesting to see the Herald, which loves a good click bait 'CRIME IS RAMPANT' headline, do something so boring and evidence based.
