Git doesn't think about patches. It's a huge issue for agents (and humans) to be able to collaborate. It's the merge conflict or the rebase problem everyone always has with your branch being out of date.

Phabricator had this right.

Being able to take your inflight work and change the base you're applying on top of is why we need merge queues.

When agents are doing the majority of the work for us we need a system that can automatically re-stack, intelligently work out what has changed in an instant.
