8/8 Hardly do we ever as rural Iowans ever hear a “politician” speak on behalf of the rural communities, the rural citizens and the family farmers; Zach Lahn hardly talks about anything other than these issues and his vision for rural Iowa.
@ZachLahn
Zach Lahn for Governor
1/8 In my line of work I have the fortune of working with our local family farmers everyday. There are not better people on this earth. This area has wonderful thriving small towns with strong local economies because of the robust population of
7/8 After watching him closely over the past 6 months, it is clear that his main passion and objective as a governor would be returning Iowa to its family farms agrarian roots and giving a jolt to rural communities.
6/8 I understand there is more to it than loss of farms when it comes to rural viability, but its no doubt a huge factor. I truly believe that every registered voter in rural communities should highly consider Zach Lahn for governor and vote this Tuesday in the primaries.
5/8 1974 with a 30% decline. Now I wasn’t around in 1974, but I bet the smallest communities in Jones county are hardly even a resemblance of what they were back in 1974. Compare those small communities to the smallest communities in Dubuque county - which ranks 90th.
4/8 these towns surely will see similar effects. In 1950 there were 206,000 working farms in Iowa in the mid 1970’s there were 137,000 and today there are 85,000 farms in Iowa. See table in comments. Jones county ranks 38th among Iowa’s 99 counties for loss of family farms since
3/8 Our smallest communities have felt the effects first; look how many schools, Churches and businesses are closed or closing down. Towns like Cascade, Dyersville, Manchester, Monticello, Bellevue, Farley, and Epworth may not have felt this yet but if the trend continues,
2/8 family farms. So many of the family farms I get to has multiple generations working on the farm with succession plans in order — this is so important for the health of the next 30 years of our small communities. However, its not the same as it was 40, 30 or even 20 years ago.
Every once in awhile I feel the need to share good music to those that dont listen to 99.3 KDST Real Country. I think everyone deserves to hear George Jones regardless if they think Luke Bryant or Bad Bunny is good music

What may be the sad ending to all this is that us Americans fought and debated fought and debated for decades —- over higher taxes, lower taxes, less money for welfare, more money for welfare, more money for defense, less money for defense, more or less money for education, more
or less money for medicare/medicaid, universal healthcare, more or less money for addiction and mental health services, public transit, roads, housing assistance, disability, space exploration, etc, etc, etc, is a moot point. Because all this debating assumes dollars are being
@elonmusk So much fraud is allowed by the big boys in the farm bill. The farming industry is too large for the gov’t to oversee direct payments to farmers while ensuring an equal playing field. Its totally legit for the big farms have multiple entities and farm names to max payments.
@AOCpressTwo Degenerate? You and your posse are literally running this country into the ground. He has done more for this country and the rest of humanity than you could pull off in a million lifetimes!
