Oh the stories I can tell: Ive had it happen so many times.

Here is the game in CA - they know when a house is vacant or vacant for sale, your house is being watched.

A day before they "squat" they order an amazon package with their name and the property address of the home they are going to take over.

You find out someone is in your house, you call the police. They show the package with their name and the property address, tell the police they rented the house (give a bogus name and company) and the police now say its a court issue

BOOM - you have to evict them. 6+ months in CA

So you settle a "cash for keys" usually $2000-5000 to get possession back in 24 hours

Its a broken system
