FOMO. Sometimes I wish I were born earlier, its been almost 10 years since I became a fan of Trigun but I wish I had known of any of it much sooner, I missed out on so many fun events and releases of merch and magazines. Buying second hand through proxy is my only salvation.
As a fic writer, I can take criticism. It’s fine; I have experience in harsh workshops.
Most don’t. They’re having fun or trying something new, so they’ll be scared off writing by unsolicited crit, possibly to never try again.
You want new writers to improve? Lift them up.
My boss just gave me amazing advice for my critical theory essay on trigun, I feel so lucky she's so sweet. She has multiple psychology degrees and such and she built her business around dogs I love her a lot. I feel so happy today, for once.
i don’t think saying if you want to write substantially (even for fic) you need to engage with a lot of different media and not just other fanfiction is that crazy of a take and it’s interesting that we have this conversation of people getting offended at this like every month
@Nezumi1359477 I miss One Piece so much I haven't caught up since 2022 😭😭☹️ I donated my manga collection of that to the library but it's still dear to me
Hi! I’m a Native single mom who’s behind on rent this month. $600 is needed. Can any settler allies help a Native mother and daughter stay housed and safe? Pls share and anything helps!

I really like the idea of absurdism, I can see how Vash was meant to embody this philosophy. He creates his own meaning in a meaningless world. He has this persistence of revering life in general as something sacred, preaching of love+peace when NML is unable to b anythng but tht
@chipz_layz This, literally. I've been trying to search for a copy of the Manga No Mori September 2000 newsletter for two years now and there are nothing but brief mentions of the interview with Nightow I need to see it badly.
It's honestly why I'm so excited to make archives of everything Trigun I own cause they're not so available to the public, these magazine interviews and such are out of print and lost to time otherwise.
Once again, a daily reminder that more than 230 MILLION GIRLS alive today went through female genital mutilation, 650 MILLION WOMEN were once child brides, 2.4 BILLION WOMEN still don't have full economic rights and only 14 COUNTRIES have full rights for women.
Nightow had taken inspiration from Albert Camus, Vash being an absurd hero, and him being a moralist somewhat like Camus himself and Meursalt in 'The Stranger'. I'm halfway through reading this book currently and it's taken such a turn. Let me list off things I've noticed so far.
