I asked the top default models to identify this picture of Michael Dell. None got it on the first try so I specified it's a famous rich man.
@Grok 4.7 got it right with the clarification.
ChatGPT Luna confidently responded "Michael Rubin", then "Mark Cuban"
Claude Sonnet just refused.
Still using Grok for day to day work. Very fast and effective.
@emollick Makes sense - "across the full distribution" means you should get several less likely but more creative results to pick from, branching out from the top "safe" answer. Sounds like an excellent technique when you don't just want the safest answers!
@emollick What's it called when we're inured not just to the new state of technology, but to the _velocity_ of improvement? Sora 2 is amazing but I found myself expecting it. Change has been happening at breakneck speed for a few years now.
@paulg I'm a tech founder - can you point to evidence that we have lots of tech jobs that need filling? Looking at the data, software job openings have been extremely low, and dwindling, for over a year. https://t.co/crU9s6BY0W
@joplinapp Joplin is blowing me away and I'd like to support it. Are you open to a donation toward a specific change? My #1 request if possible is just that new notes and moved notes show up in a predictable place (under current note, and at bottom of folder, respectively).
@lessin@pstAsiatech The issue is that once there is sufficient UGC, a company/regime can editorialize to say anything just by selectively promoting the desired content. The less transparency (e.g. X's open algorithm) the more certain it is that you're seeing exactly what the co wants.
@audiosampling Dr. Pigeon, I'm getting an issue for the last couple weeks where MyNoise will skip during playback. Happens on website and iOS app, Bluetooth or wired headphones. Any insight? Skips are ~0.1-0.3 seconds. Not experiencing it with Spotify etc.
@paulg Brands have learned that taking any risks is bound to piss off some vocal Twitter group. So it's either (a) produce something totally bland, or (b) use your advertising muscle online so you can send your message directly to one filter-bubble group at a time.
@element_hq At a high level, can anyone point me to who's at the forefront of advancing a philosophy that apps providing access to decentralized networks are just a portal, and need to be protected? It is clear the Internet could not have come into existence with big tech in control.
@paulg Looks heavily correlated with lack of upward mobility. Perhaps the wealthier you are the more likely you can survive easily without going anywhere - working remotely on a software job, for example!
@kschwabable This is a time that will distinguish managers who actually understand what their employees contribute, rather than just make sure derrieres are in seats!
@ProfTortuga As far as I'm aware it's also a far stricter quarantine than anywhere in the US (I'm here in Medellín now). It's illegal to go out even to grocery shop unless your ID number matches the day, ~twice a week. I'm sure that's also a major factor in the containment!
@ZalaeHS This study just came out on very brief exertion many times a day - seen it? Looks like your method has some solid scientific backing. Even just 4 seconds at a go has a big effect! https://t.co/r6WcEVOFge
@amasad You're right, vanilla JS is more like 1 second. Thanks for the quick follow-up! Would be great to have a tool like this that works smoothly with TS.
@paulg Tried https://t.co/NltSxOTxol since you've been recommending it so much. Hello World consistently takes 6-7 seconds to run, any idea why? Seems like a real deal breaker if this is for quick coding.
console.log("Hello world");
