It is a pleasure to share our @starlabdf2 paper @SciReports showing that EEG can be used to establish digital phenotypes. These digital phenotypes are then used to stratify and eventually predict response to brain stimulation. Please find more details at https://t.co/oFUImLawsO
1/🧵 I'm happy to co-sign this new open letter calling for massively increased support for research into consciousness, in the face of the rapid acceleration of AI. 🙏🏽 @JohannesKleiner &c for leading the initiative .@theASSC .@CIFAR_News@BBCTech
#Throwback to the Brain Innovation Days last year organized by the @EU_Brain. Our colleague Claire Braboszcz from @starlabdf2 was there to demonstrate our prototype of an automatic reporting system delivering a summary of key EEG features 🤓

Happy Fridays y’all! Big up @ruffini for this little beauty! Another angle on psychedelics dialling up brain entropy, here above a critical point - curious result.
Our paper on Ising analysis of LSD effects (fMRI BOLD) is out! Great collaboration with Giada Damiani, @RCarhartHarris , Niko & Gustavo Deco, @_fernando_rosas, Narsis Kiani, & others.

When it comes to autonomous AI-based weapons, "the public needs to understand that the stakes are very different now and that we have to sit down and talk about everything on a case by case basis from a strategic deterrence perspective" - @DrSueSchneider

Consciousness is closely associated with the "limited capacity" aspects of the brain. Limited capacity mechanisms include immediate memory, the selectivity of attention, and the fact that we cannot do two demanding voluntary actions at the same time.
"we call for a discussion of the immediate ethical corollaries of the body of knowledge that has accumulated and for a more explicit consideration of the role of ideology and ethics in the scientific study of consciousness."
Rewatching this episode of Mind Chat in prep for my public debate with @anilkseth this evening...I think this may be the only episode where @keithfrankish sides with me *a little bit*...unless anyone's spotted another?

Consciousness is a fundamental concept, like mass and energy, entropy and life. People call it "perception" or "attention" or even "knowledge." Those terms capture part of the truth, but they are by no means the whole network of empirically anchored concepts.
Yesterday we sent @danieladepaulis brainwaves to space and 9th of April we will do a hands/brains -on experience about the project at the @Cambridge_Fest https://t.co/ZZLLlLVi96
Completely locked-in man uses brain-computer interface to communicate. Today, Wyss Center COO, Olivier Coquoz, discussed the team’s new Nature Communications paper on @RTScqfd. Listen back to the interview here: https://t.co/y6SIz5y8Y1 #neuroscience#BCI https://t.co/gzBCQym5H2
Are you interested in theories of #consciousness?
Then make sure to attend the 'Symposium: From Cortical Microcircuits to Consciousness' in April!

Fascinating. Study maps the embodied and somatic aspects of hallucination. Striking how much of the verbal descriptions are visceral in nature. https://t.co/FvEqaOGZNM
