I bought token wrongfully to a meter of a house I had vacated it's now 2 months Kenya Power hasnt refunded or give me back the token I feed to my current meter despite filling forms and sharing to your customer care no. As adviced. Your work is quiet wanting !

Hello Alex, kindly request your assistance in highlighting this matter.
NTSA recently discontinued the use of KD numbers unless the vehicle is registered under the importer’s name on the entry number. Previously, vehicles could be moved using KD plates regardless of who was using them. However, NTSA has also not been dispatching KDY physical plates for the past month, creating a serious challenge for vehicle importers.
As a result, many imported vehicles remain stranded at Container Freight Stations (CFS) and ports awaiting the issuance of physical number plates. This delay is causing importers to incur substantial storage charges at ports and customs warehouse fees, leading to significant financial losses.
We respectfully urge NTSA to expedite the production and dispatch of physical number plates to facilitate the timely release of vehicles. Alternatively, NTSA could temporarily reinstate the use of KD plates, as was previously allowed, until the backlog of physical plates is cleared.
Prompt action on this matter would greatly alleviate the burden currently facing vehicle importers and prevent further unnecessary losses.

@ntsa_kenya is it a favor to get the plates we paid for in time? Your systems for collecting revenue are highly efficient, yet service delivery is broken. The least you can do is issue an official public notice on how drivers should proceed as they wait for their plates! (3/4)

@calvinebarongo @JCarhire @ntsa_kenya NTSA conveniently ignoring this issue. They are the cause for delayed physical plates. They should issue memo on the same. Cops insist you use KD or KG plates and that it's non of their problem.

@ntsa_kenya I purchased a vehicle from a dealer in Mombasa. The KDY number plates were applied for before transfer, but two weeks later they have not been issued. I'm unable to collect the vehicle. Is there a delay in the issuance of KDY plates?

You took out a bank loan and bought yourself a nice car.

The car was imported, and you had already started paying insurance premiums.

Then you cleared the taxes — about KSh 400,000 more than you had budgeted for. A lot of money, but you rearranged things and paid it anyway.

Finally, you were handed the keys to your new car.

Except you can't actually drive it because @ntsa_kenya doesn't have number plates. At least not KDY plates.

So, a month after the vehicle arrived in Nairobi, you still can't use it — despite paying insurance premiums, on top of the Ubers and matatus you were trying to avoid by buying a car in the first place.

Government inefficiency is now costing you over KSh 100,000 per month.

Go figure.

@motoristsoffice Hi please help press NTSA to sort the numberplate issue for new cars. Cops have made the issue a cash cow. It's almost 1 month and there are mo plates for KDY at all! Can ntsa do a circular and allow guys to print the number on a paper & stick on the screen!
