A friend in Canada told us that for his children's school cultural diversity day, pupils were asked to teach songs from their cultures. When he got there to pick up his son, staff excitedly told him his boy’s Yoruba song had been chosen for presentation by the school and they would like him to help them with the full version. Seeing that he looked a bit lost, the teacher asked his boy to sing the song again. After a brief hesitation, the boy started:

It’s often said that it takes a village to raise a child. In @TomisinOgunnubi case, it took many villages — the village of the Ogunnubi family, the village of @DaystarNG Christian Centre, her many tutors in schools, and the uncles, aunties, and mentors on social media who cheered her on every step of the way.

To all the villagers who played a part in her growth and development, this is me, your son returning to say thank you. 🙏🏽

With the deepest humility, and the pride only a father can feel, your girl, Tomisin Ogunnubi, graduated from the Imperial College London (UK) on 8th of October 2025 with a First Class Honours, Masters in Computing (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning).

I must specially recognize her mum @wendypendy2000 the quiet strength behind this success. While it’s easy to look at the father on a day like this, the truth is that the best-kept secret behind Tomisin’s journey is her mum — her rock, her anchor, her calm.

From the 14-year-old who built a safety app that caught the world’s attention, to a young woman now building the future with AI, Tomisin, we are proud of you.

May God bless the work of our hands, and may God bless our children.
