The untold story of Malaysia's role in SpaceX's survival.
Malaysia was instrumental in keeping SpaceX alive in its early years. One could argue it helped save Elon during his lowest financial period.
Falcon 1's first three launches, 2006 to 2008, all failed. The company was nearly bankrupt — grown men were weeping after the third failure. The fourth flight in September 2008 finally reached orbit with a dummy payload, RatSat. But still, no paying customer.
SpaceX needed a real commercial customer to prove the business was viable.
That customer was Malaysia.
Malaysia was looking to launch its satellite, RazakSAT, and needed a reliable, cost-effective option. Dr Ahmad Sabirin first give Elon a call on Christmas 2003 to explore the possibilities of launching of satellite to the low equatorial orbit and met in El Segundo, And after many discussions, they agreed to launch from Omelek Island in the Kwajalein Atoll.
On July 14, 2009, RazakSAT flew — the fifth and final Falcon 1, and SpaceX's first-ever commercial launch. The Malaysian flag Jalur Gemilang was painted on the side of the rocket.
That payment helped SpaceX make payroll through its hardest stretch. And it put Malaysia in orbit. Win win.
For old times' sake, Elon should drop by Malaysia. Ask someone to hold his teh tarik for one more handshake.
Dr Ahmad Sabirin & Elon, 2004.
Korea's squad averages 182.3cm. Czechia, their World Cup opener, averaged 185.7cm and was among the tallest squads in the tournament. That's the matchup where height and mass were supposed to determine the outcome. Korea won 2-1 from behind.
Getting there started in May. On May 18, the squad flew to Salt Lake City, Utah, specifically for the altitude. The city sits at about 1,300 meters above sea level, similar to Guadalajara at 1,571 meters where Korea played their first two group matches. Two to three weeks at that elevation pushes the body to make more red blood cells. These cells carry oxygen to working muscles. Teams that skip this step pay for it from the first whistle.
Korea's coaching staff monitored each player's blood oxygen levels daily and adjusted loads individually. After sessions, players soaked in hot tubs and saunas, deliberately acclimating to Guadalajara's expected heat: 31-32 Celsius and 60-66 percent humidity. The Korea Football Association consulted sports science and environmental acclimation specialists before selecting Salt Lake City. They had assessed multiple candidate sites. Czechia trained at sea level in Mansfield, Texas.
Kim Min-jae, Bayern Munich's 190cm center-back, won 80 percent of his aerial duels against Patrik Schick, who stands 191cm. Schick had zero shots on target. The Guardian called it "a long and lonely night" for the Leverkusen striker.
South Korea has qualified for 11 consecutive World Cups. No Asian nation has ever sustained that run. They came through the final qualifying round unbeaten across 16 matches, scoring 40 goals and conceding just eight, the only Asian side to do so. A 2011 paper from researchers at Hanyang University in Seoul tracked the physical performance of all 32 squads at the 2010 World Cup. Korea's players ran faster than every team there, including all four semi-finalists.
Son Heung-min is playing his fourth World Cup at 33. He has 56 international goals, two away from South Korea's all-time scoring record.
tbh, i view Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei as extreme versions of Malaysia. If Malaysia becomes too nationalistic, it will become like Indonesia, if Malaysia is too open for all, it will become like Singapore, if Malaysia only sticks to tradition, it will become like Brunei.
Satu je nak tanya pasal PRN Johor ni,
João Figueiredo dengan Nacho Mendez mengundi kat mana?
Adakah di El Caocup (Kukup), Benoit (Benut) atau La Cometa (Layang-layang) ?

Gila lah kerajaan sekarang, GLC jadi lubuk jawatan bagi ahli2 politik yg kalah kerusi.
Kahkahkah... dulu beriya cajao kasi jawatan GLC tu salah satu bentuk rasuah. Sekarang buat sebijik macam yg dikritik dulu.
Semata mata tukar BN ganti DAP je. Perangai masih macam yg lama cuma tukar entiti baru tanpa ada reformasi.

TNG bakal hilang monopoli.
Liam Neeson said he has never watched Fifty Shades of Grey. Not because of the film itself, but because of a personal memory that makes it difficult for him to see it.
Years earlier, he had worked with Melanie Griffith. During that time, he met her daughter, Dakota Johnson, when she was still very young. He remembers her as a child on set, far removed from any image connected to the roles she would later play as an adult.
Then everything else followed. Dakota grew up, entered the film industry, and became the star of one of the most talked-about movies of recent years. The public sees her differently. For Neeson, that is not the case.
In an interview, he explained that, to him, she is still connected to that first memory. He cannot separate the adult actress from the little girl he once knew. That is why he chose not to watch the film.
It is not a judgment on the content, but a personal matter tied to time and to what remains in memory.

Melayu bukan etnis, bukan pula ras.
