@Soleilmetosleep I don't think that's accidental. Viv apparently had her best animators working on this, & it came out exactly as she intended, if I understood the commentary notes correctly.
I try not posting about things I dislike, because thatβs not why I made this account & I really donβt want it to become a hub for negativity. That said, Iβm allowing myself one complaint for now: I like Vassago, & it genuinely sucks knowing heβs basically going +
to be used as the other love interest for Stolas until Stolas inevitably chooses Blitzo. Iβve kind of expected this for a long time anyway. Viv liked a Twitter post ages ago that, if Iβm remembering correctly, outlined something along those lines. +
@radioecho17 YES. I agree. I was specifically laughing at your script in how fandom reacts to information being given. Viv will say the ball is green, & the fandom will go "the ball is blue?!?"
You know who actually gives a perfect example of caring deeply about the approval of someone she looks up to? Charlie. Iβm not saying Adam would have to behave exactly like her, obviously, but Iβve never gotten that impression from him with Sera. +
So I guess this is an unpopular opinion, but Adamβs interactions with Sera are generally pretty blatantly disrespectful. He drinks while sheβs talking, zones out while sheβs lecturing him, & doesnβt seem particularly concerned with earning her approval. +
his ascension into Heaven, but even there, his concern isnβt Seraβs personal opinion of him. Heβs looking for reassurance about his place in Heaven, his status, his legitimacy, the entire position heβs built for himself as the first human soul to ascend.
Honestly, I donβt think either of them has that kind of emotional investment in the otherβs opinion, & I always assumed the idea that they did was just a collective fandom headcanon. I thought that was kind of obvious? The one moment people point to is Adam questioning +
maternal or emotional approval from Sera. Heβs questioning his position as the first human soul to ascend. That anxiety is about reaffirming his place in Heaven, his status, & the identity heβs built around being the First Man. He doesn't seem to cared whether Sera +
