Looking at these FFXV storyboards from May 2013 is always interesting because within them there are around 3 to 4 characters never seen before in any trailer for Versus/XV under Nomura nor in the final XV, but also a lot of the concepts and the general tone even from these storyboards made its way through to the final game.
Like so many people pretend Versus/XV under Nomura was some always serious dark at night time in a city moody game, but actual Nomura XV in these storyboards shows it was a roadtrip the same way XV ended up as and Nomura said himself that the mood of the game is actually more lighter and jovial despite Noctis's heavy burden.
