MOMENTS AGO: The DOJ just announced results from Operation New Dawn — a major federal surge into Chicago targeting violent crime. In roughly 60 days, authorities charged 179 defendants across 140 new federal cases, arrested 305 fugitives, and safely recovered 24 children (many kidnapped) and returned them home.

Three alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were also arrested in connection with a man mu*dered back in May.

DOJ: “Since roughly May 1, 2026, 179 criminal defendants were charged in federal court across 140 newly-filed criminal cases; 305 fugitives were apprehended and brought into custody, many of whom had previously been charged with serious criminal offenses; and 24 children, many of whom were kidnapped, were located and safely returned home.”

As a critical care nurse, looking at Senator Mitch McConnell’s situation through an ICU lens tells a very different story from the public updates.

Following the release of emergency audio detailing an unconscious person and active CPR for cardiac arrest at his residence on June 14, his staff issued a statement claiming he continues to improve and is working closely with his office. 🙄

However, anyone with extensive bedside experience knows that for an 84-year-old frail patient who has sustained an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest requiring full resuscitation, the idea that he is actively participating in daily Senate business is highly unlikely.

The brutal physical trauma of chest compressions combined with the high risk of acute neurological insult makes a return to a high-functioning baseline virtually impossible for someone with his preexisting vulnerabilities.

From my clinical perspective, the statistical chances of a full recovery are slim to none, serving as a stark reminder that political status cannot override physiological limits.

Who agrees that his constituents and the rest of America deserves the truth? 🤔

NEW: A CBS Chicago crew was attacked near the Adler Planetarium yesterday and three people are now in custody.

A CBS reporter and photographer were approached by three men in a tow truck before a live report yesterday afternoon.

CBS says a man got out while shouting racial slurs and ordering his dog to attack. Another man smashed their camera, while a third broke their windshield. The men took off without physically harming the reporter or photographer.

20 minutes later, police tracked the two truck to Brighton Park, where witnesses say the men were pointing a gun at people on the street. The suspects were taken into custody after a chase and a crash. A high powered rifle was confiscated from that tow truck.

The identity of the people in custody has not been released.
