๐จ NEW: The man mauled by a tiger after entering its enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park has been named as William Chapman
He posted a video of himself inside the enclosure just moments before the attack
39 year old sexually active woman presented with fever and right sided abdominal pain. Ultrasound was normal so doctors did a laparoscopy to see violin string adhesions between the liver and the wall of the belly.
These thin white bands of tissue look like the strings on a violin. They form when the covering of the liver gets inflamed. This is called Fitz-Hugh-Curtis syndrome. It is also called perihepatitis. It is a complication of pelvic inflammatory disease. This is an infection of the uterus and tubes that spreads upward. The usual germs are chlamydia or gonorrhea. Sexually active women can get these infections if they are not treated. The pain can feel like a gallbladder problem and often gets worse with deep breaths.
Antibiotics clear the infection. Doctors may also cut the adhesions during the operation to relieve pain. Most women feel better after treatment. Seeing a doctor early helps avoid lasting issues.
