This had none of what made Legend good. It became a chore to read. Legend was fast-paced and emotional in comparison to this slow and boring, unemotional slog, with a newly-added unnecessary love square to boot. I'm so disappointed.

“Keep at it, Junebug—someday, you’ll shake the Republic to its very core. You’ll be absolutely unforgettable. I know it.”
i’m sorry but your favorite author chose to move forward with adapting her book that filled with EXTREMELY disturbing content. her book is NOT close to romance AT ALL, it contains numerous scenes that should never be normalized on screen and the mmc is literally a rap1st???
ICE has shot and killed yet another man, this time a 26-year-old Colombian in Maine who was not the target of their investigation.
This comes after they killed a Mexican man, who was also not the target of their operation, in Houston last week.

@glitterpricked Annette Marie (Red Winter trilogy) and J.M. Darhower (Ghosted). I expected to love red winter, but I went into ghosted thinking I'd hate it 😭
“Authors, please use easy words in your books” is a sentence designed in a lab to upset me. You only learn by reading things that challenge you. This idea that we should only ever be exposed to things we know already is deeply incurious and anti-intellectual.
