Some places instantly feel like Italy. The rolling hills, the cypress trees, the timeless beauty of Tuscany. And, of course, Lamborghini Revuelto.

A journey through 140 years β part #2: In 1902, the Mercedes Simplex 40 PS changed the world of mobility forever. By moving away from high-riding βmotorized carriagesβ to a flat, low-slung frame with the engine mounted low and up front, it established the technical layout that almost every car on the road still follows over 120 years later. The suffix βSimplexβ was intended to indicate how easy the new model was to operate for its time. From the very start, this style was successful in motorsport with successes like the Englishman E. T. Stead winning the NiceLa Turbie hill climb. In the mile-long race, the 40 hp models reached speeds of over 100 km/h.
