the worst part of love is that i remember it. i walk around all day thinking: i'm going to die in the universe you loved me in. i get so jealous of euthanized dogs.
“I am the passerby who was martyred alongside journalist Ismail Al-Ghoul. Do you recognise me now? Did you hear my mother's crying’ My son is not an unknown martyr, my son's name is Khaled Saed Al-Shawa'? Or did you ignore her and go about your lives? Are you ready to listen to me, or will you ignore my words?”
I’m Khaled Al-Shawa, a 17 year old, the only child my parents have. They would always tell me stories of how Allah blessed them with me after all the waiting, suffering, and treatment.
My parents taught me to dream, to hope and pray and work hard, and Allah will provide it. So I dreamt, I dreamt of exploring the world, learning about all cultures. I dreamt of succeeding and becoming the best.
The last thing I did on earth was help someone else; I was carrying food in my backpack to deliver to my elderly neighbour.
I was cycling on my bike and in that moment I was as martyred by the attack by the occupation that targeting Ismail Al-Ghoul's car. It was the 31st of July.
The last words of my mother were “My son is not a number, not unknown. My son's name is Khaled Sa'eed Al-Shawa, and he is the only son, and he was martyred while returning from his daily trip to deliver food to his wounded neighbor."
I am writing this from a safer place; but it is unjust that we do not get the chance to fulfil our destinies on earth; that we must make do with going somewhere better because the world has decided it will look away while we are sentenced to living in some kind of hell of earth. Today you will fulfil your little destinies and learn new things. Will we even see the end of the day? Will you think of us? Do you stand with us?
My Name is “Ward”it means “flowers”in Arabic, very beautiful very cheerful,
my mom used to call me “1 inch and half”for being so little and very active, I can cheer up everyone with my laugh, very stylish as you can see,

"Israel killed everyone in the picture"
Khaled Brais, his wife, and their children were murdered in cold blood by a direct attack from the Israeli occupation forces on their home.
Congratulations to our heroine, journalist Hind Al-Khoudary, on her nomination for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize.
It is noteworthy that Hind refused to leave Gaza with her family, choosing to continue covering the genocide in Gaza despite the lack of global media coverage.
We are proud of you, @Hind_Gaza ♥️
Do you remember Hind Rajab? Hind was a mirror to the world, exposing its false values, weakness, and hypocrisy.
Many children have faced atrocities worse than Hind’s, without any media coverage.
There are little Hinds all over Gaza; dying violent silent deaths as you all go about your daily lives. While you hold your children; parents in Gaza are left with empty arms, or holding their dead children some even carrying them in bags meant for rice.
Do something to stop Israel's crimes against children!
Hello everyone, for those who don't know me, my name is Ismail Al-Ghoul. I'm a journalist with Al Jazeera, born in 1997 in the Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza. My life, like many here, has been shaped by the wars. I’ve seen the devastation up close, and it’s the memory of those we've lost that drives me to document our stories, so their lives aren't forgotten.
One of those losses was my dear friend, someone I grew up with in the camp. We shared dreams, fears, and the same streets. When he was killed during one of the bombings, something in me changed forever. His death pushed me to pursue journalism, to be a witness for those who can no longer speak for themselves.
I was separated from my beloved wife and daughter, Zenah, 10 months ago. I looked forward to our calls, to hearing my beautiful daughter say “Baba”! She brought me not only joy, but hope for a bright future.
Minutes before my death, I knew I had to hear their voices, to tell them how much I loved them, and reassure them that all’s Allah’s fate.
My friend Suppressed, from the heart of Gaza, I genuinely thank you for your support, constant encouragement, and motivating words.
You have been sincere in your support, and we will miss you.
Stay strong as we have always known you to be and continue to be a pillar for your family and loved ones.
Palestine will be free because of freedom fighters like you.
I hope you return to us soon, hero. 🙏
“I, the mother of Martyrs, have also become one now. We will not be forgotten, we will be remembered by name for remaining steadfast in our land”
“The great woman” the righteous wife” “a sacrificing mother” are the the words said to me by the people around me. My name is Umm Asaad Arouk, and above all these things mentioned about me, I want only good and pleasant things for the people around me. I try to be generous, for who else is deserving of the kindness of this world if not us?
I lived long and learned a lot, so I try to pass my lessons to my children and grandchildren. Teach them about our beloved land that birthed them, and gave them everything, about how to build a community and learn to bond with each other. The land gives everything so we ought to learn about it too.
I am attached to my small home and dearly beloved family and husband, therefore I refuse to be displaced. This is the place I choose to the very end and this is the place I eventually did meet my end, as I was martyred along with some of my family members on May 1st.
“I am a person who has always loved life. Now as I became a martyr, my only hope is that there are other people who share my world views and who would help free my beautiful Gaza!”
My name is Anas Abu Nadi from Gaza, a man who loves life.
I was raised in the Rightly Guided Caliphs Mosque and since early age I have loved spending my time in the mosque, dedicating myself to memorizing the Book of Allah.
Due to the harsh living conditions imposed upon us here in Gaza, I did not manage to complete my education and was forced to start working from an early age. I have worked in various fields, including in an ice cream shop, as a guard at a villa, and most recently as a sales employee at the Al-Ulul Mill.
Even when faced with these difficulties, I tried to be an active person - I have various hobbies including wrestling, swimming, and football which I enjoy with my friends.
Although my life has not been easy, my dream of buying my own apartment finally came true after 5 years of hard work, 9 hours per day. However, my dream was destroyed as I was brutally murdered by the occupation on October 7.
“the laughing, intelligent, and lighthearted girl, who captured the heart from the first meeting, will never laugh or see the bright future awaiting her”
Hi, I’m Ahed Arouk. My mama and baba are my best friends. I love mama because she makes the best food. And I love baba because he always plays with me. Grandma and grandpa are the best, they always tell me I’m smart and hug me and tell me they love me.
I’m excited to start kg, my mama told me all about it, I want to make so many friends.
I love my room, I love my bed, and I love playing in the living room with my family. They told us to leave our house, but we didn’t leave.
“Ahed and her family refused to be displaced and clung to their home and what remained of it, until they were martyred on June 4 in an Israeli bombardment of their home”
"We are a people who love life and live it to the fullest, but we do not fear death nor flee from it, for it is the gateway to true life"
I am Siraj, I am 18 years old; I was awaiting my high school graduation eagerly! I wanted to follow in the footsteps of my mother Dr. Aliya Al-Qishawi. When the war began and the first people were displaced I refused to leave my home. It's not enough that my parents' family fled from Palestine in 1948 from the occupied village of 'Yibna' and have not yet returned. I'm not leaving Gaza, and I won't leave it for the occupier.
My last day was simple, I cleaned the house, showered and went to sleep but I never woke up; I was killed by the enemy in a bombardment of our apartment for the fourth time on August 2. We deserve many of these simple days, we deserve to wake up and do them all over again. I leave you with the last words I shared on social media "We are a people who love life and live it to the fullest, but we do not fear death nor flee from it, for it is the gateway to true life.
"As a journalist, I kept showing the brutality of the occupation and the horrors that it unleashes daily on the people of Gaza, however, no one seems to understand that we, Palestinians will be free!"
My name is Khaled Abu Kuwik, also known as ‘Abu Muhammad’.
I am a journalist, a brother, a friend, a neighbour, loved by everyone around me. I take great pleasure in gathering everyone in my house, sharing all the joys and the many sorrows of our life as Gazans. I have always believed that we, Palestinians deserve to be free, no matter all the years I have spent in the occupation’s dungeons. I love reading, analysing and speaking for hours about the Palestinian issue.
After I was once again displaced and my home destroyed, the occupation did not feel this was enough - it brutally murdered me on August 2.
"Accept your destiny with a contented heart, for God knows what you do not know."
I am Muhammad, and here I was a long-awaited child my parents were elated when I arrived.; it was a joy beyond words.
My mother set aside a piggy bank for me since my early childhood, she was collecting the tuition fees for my university education. My family hoped I would study medicine when I grow up.
My family described me as a righteous, well-mannered, and diligent young man. I was dedicated to my studies and wanted to fulfil my parent’s dreams. I was very sad when I didn’t get the grade I needed to be able to study medicine; but I quickly embraced my fate sharing the message "Accept your destiny with a contented heart, for God knows what you do not know."
I regained my enthusiasm and asked my family advice on a subject to study that would be more suited to me. However, as the new year began fate had already determined my path to the higher realms, I write to you from somewhere better. I was martyred due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on July 29. I should have been allowed to live out my future and explore new possibilities but we are being deprived of that luxury every hour of everyday.
