Google Cloud has detailed a preview Multi-party Compute service for institutional Bitcoin bitcoin:native custody.
The service lets financial institutions jointly authorize and sign transactions while keeping any single party from controlling the full private key. It is currently in preview and under test by major global banks.
Private-key fragments are distributed across separate computing environments. This design removes single points of failure and adds programmable policy checks before any transfer executes.
Institutions testing the service gain an additional custody option alongside existing providers. Customers retain control of their own key shards throughout.
Commercial availability is targeted for early 2027. The announcement came ahead of a Google Cloud MPC Symposium held in New York on 28 October 2026.
It remains unclear how quickly institutions will migrate existing holdings or how the new service will compare in practice with established custody platforms once live.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told attendees at Ripple's conference that cryptocurrencies could reinforce the dollar's global position.
He noted that more than 90 percent of all stablecoins are dollar-based. Dollar-backed stablecoins, he said, could extend dollar usage in emerging markets and raise demand for U.S. Treasuries held as reserves.
Bessent placed digital assets alongside AI and semiconductors in the technological contest with China. He argued that a clear regulatory path would let the United States lead in this infrastructure.
The Treasury Department could coordinate with the SEC and CFTC to create that framework, he added. Such steps might also reduce the debanking of crypto firms that followed the Clarity Act's failure.
Market participants who rely on stablecoins for cross-border payments would see the most direct effects. Issuers and exchanges operating in the United States would face new compliance expectations once rules take shape.
It remains unclear whether Congress will revive broader legislation or whether agency guidance alone will suffice. The outcome will determine how quickly any new framework reaches implementation.

Twenty-six listed companies have now formally objected to having their shares tokenized on a planned OKX and Intercontinental Exchange platform.
The objections were filed under a Securities and Exchange Commission innovation exemption that gives issuers a 30-day window to block third-party tokenized versions of their stock.
The original notice covered 63 U.S.-listed securities. The latest additions, including IBM, Oracle and Intel, raised the total from 22 companies recorded on 23 October 2026.
Objecting issuers include Wells Fargo, Arm Holdings, Intuit, Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs. The notices do not state reasons but cite concerns over liquidity fragmentation and alignment of corporate actions.
The framework still permits the companies themselves to issue blockchain-based securities if they choose. Industry group SIFMA has asked the SEC to require affirmative consent and extend the window to 90 days.
Tokenized equities already exceed $4.4 billion across 36 issuers, yet the practical reach of any new venue now depends on which names remain available after the opt-out period closes.

Bitcoin bitcoin:native has averaged a 53.7 percent gain in the twelve months after the past three U.S. midterm elections, excluding 2010.
The S&P 500 has posted an average 15.17 percent advance in the year following every midterm since 1950.
These returns exceed the index's long-term average gain in non-post-midterm years.
Bitcoin's post-midterm pattern may stem from its four-year halving cycle rather than election timing alone.
In 2026 the usual Bitcoin price bottom after midterms has not occurred, breaking the recent sequence.
Holders of bitcoin and equity portfolios see stronger historical performance in the twelve months after midterms than in other periods of the presidential cycle.
Whether the 2026 cycle will follow the same path remains open because the halving explanation cannot be ruled out.

Securitize has added the Stellar stellar:native network to the blockchains it supports for tokenized assets.
The announcement came on 28 October 2026 at Meridian 2026, the Stellar Development Foundationβs annual conference held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Securitize already works with Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche. It selected Stellar for its transaction speed, scalability and built-in compliance tools at the asset level.
Stellar now ranks as the fourth-largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets, according to Securitize chief executive Carlos Domingo.
Institutional asset managers gain another on-chain venue for issuing and managing traditional financial products.
The integration remains in the planning stage and no specific product launch date has been set.

Bitcoin bitcoin:native moved to hold support near 80000 dollars while Asian and US tech stocks extended gains ahead of earnings.
Morgan Stanley strategist Michael Wilson described the equity correction since June as entering its final phase. He cited upcoming midterms and shifts in Fed liquidity as likely clearing events.
The framework treats any further dip toward the 200-day moving average as consistent with the outlook rather than a breakdown.
The rebound in tech shares coincided with Bitcoin attempting to stabilize after recent pressure. On-chain metrics showed mining difficulty rising 6.44 percent on October 29.
Holders of Bitcoin and equity desks tracking risk assets now watch whether the expected clearing events materialize without deeper selling. The sources give no confirmation that Bitcoin is on track to reach 82000 dollars.
It remains unclear how long the current rebound in equities will last or whether Bitcoin will sustain levels above 80000 if equity momentum fades.
