The Moat is the true treasure of every company. Objective analyses of Economic Moats and financial topics. Valuable insights and thought-provoking perspectives.
Attackers have frontier AI. Defenders need a frontier AI ecosystem—the best open and closed models, force-multiplied by a global community.
During the Hugging Face incident, closed AI blocked essential forensics. An open-weight frontier model helped contain the intrusion.
That’s why we created the Open Secure AI Alliance.
@kimmonismus What is the outcome of this letter in general?
Do they want to let their ai models compete together in order to reach the first world model or is ot just show to protect themselves from being overregulated?
Do you still think AI causes layoffs?
Every company i know can scale much faster with AI, thats clear; but in my experience (I work for one of the mag7) layoff workers does not solve any problem. The demand for skilled workers that can use AI to execute that fast scaling is unpredictable high.
I agree, that unskilled workers, who can't adopt AI in their daily workflows are in very dangerous positions and could be fired soon.
But I don't think that layoffs are directly AI drive. It's more like "die Spreu vom Weizen trennen", to boost productivity under skilled workers. But that's only my experience.
@Maxime_Wunder@ShishirShelke1 Nvidia is targeting Businessmarket- china is getting their piece now for consumer market with low priced RAM .
Nvidia will sell their 10mio Devices to Dell, HP enterprice who install their Devices in different businesses
@grok should happen soon right?e.g. Ionq got a massive push through latest hardware innovations. Next step after turn up production volume is quantum computing. There are no big steps in between them. AGI or ASI will be near quantum computing , or with other words, agi or asi will be the foundation for that.
Grok correct me if I'm wrong
in my opionion this energy crisis outcome is most likely the complete opposite of what you think
its the chance for amazon longterm to push energy production with x-energy (and not only for amazon!)
high(er) oil prices means high investments in other companies within energy production sector
shortterm it will raise prices, but amazon has a lot of leverage potential to just counterbalance these costs
$TSLA Tesla expands Moat ❗️
Tesla signed a strategically significant Master Purchasing Agreement with Sourcewell, the largest U.S. government purchasing cooperative, on April 24, 2026. More than 50,000 state and local government agencies, school districts, and higher education institutions now gain direct, simplified access to Tesla vehicles (Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck) and energy storage solutions – bypassing the usual 12- to 18-month competitive bidding processes.
The contract (number 081325-TES) has an initial term of four years until November 13, 2029, with options for up to three additional one-year extensions. Pre-negotiated pricing and tiered volume discounts (1–4%) provide transparency and planning certainty.
This deal sustainably expands Tesla’s economic moat and deepens its position particularly in the public sector. The pre-qualification (“pre-cleared”) creates a high barrier to entry for competitors, who are now structurally disadvantaged with these customers.
At the same time, customer loyalty and switching costs are massively increased: Agencies that introduce Tesla fleets integrate into a closed ecosystem of Supercharger infrastructure, Full Self-Driving (FSD), service network, and Powerwall/Megapack solutions. This leads to long-term dependencies and recurring revenues.
Another decisive advantage lies in the data advantage: Every additional Tesla in public fleets delivers high-quality real-world usage data that continuously improves the AI models for autonomous driving and the Optimus robot – a self-reinforcing network effect that further strengthens the technology moat.
In the broader context of Tesla’s focus on Robotaxi (Cybercab production start still in 2026), humanoid robotics, and massive AI investments (capex raised to $25 billion), the Sourcewell deal underscores the company’s ability to overcome regulatory and commercial hurdles in key markets. Public fleets benefit from significantly lower total cost of ownership, zero emissions, and accelerated implementation of their sustainability goals.
A clearly positive and structurally effective impulse for the moat. The contract solidifies Tesla’s lead as the preferred partner for electrifying the public sector, increases economies of scale, and supports the long-term transformation toward autonomous mobility and AI.
This further strengthens the competitive position against traditional automakers.
$PLTR Palantir Signs Major $300 Million Deal with the U.S. Department of Agriculture
On April 22, 2026, Palantir Technologies announced a $300 million Blanket Purchase Agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The agreement supports two key initiatives: the "One Farmer, One File" program and the National Farm Security Action Plan.
Under the deal, Palantir will provide its software platform to modernize how the USDA manages farmer data, streamlines program delivery, and enhances the security of the U.S. agricultural supply chain.
This announcement marks a significant expansion of Palantir’s business beyond its traditional defense and intelligence focus into broader civilian government operations. The key consequences and long-term impacts include:
- New recurring revenue stream:
The multi-year agreement provides visibility into future revenue and strengthens Palantir’s position in the government sector.
- Deepened competitive moat:
By integrating its AI platform into critical civilian infrastructure, Palantir increases switching costs and builds long-term data relationships with federal agencies.
- Proof of platform scalability:
The deal demonstrates that Palantir’s AIP (Artificial Intelligence Platform) can deliver value not only in defense but also in complex civilian environments such as agriculture and food security.
- Gateway to further opportunities:
Success in this project could open doors to additional civilian government agencies seeking digital modernization.
The USDA agreement comes at a time of strong momentum for Palantir. U.S. commercial revenue grew by 137% in the most recent quarter, while overall revenue increased 70% year-over-year. With robust 2026 guidance in place, the company continues to execute well across both its commercial and government segments.
The $300 million USDA deal represents more than just another contract. It signals Palantir’s evolution into a strategic technology partner for critical civilian infrastructure, while reinforcing its strong execution and expanding its addressable market.
Hallo @DHLPaket,
ich habe gerade versucht - wie immer -, eine Lieferung bei einer Packstation abzuholen. Angekommen, verlangt die Packstation meine Kundennummer und meine PIN.
Natürlich besitze ich keine PIN.
Was ist da los?
