A scene showing a 20-year-old woman lying on the poolside with her legs raised.
Unstable postures on the poolside carry more serious physical risks than they may appear.
First is the risk of sudden falls. Even with anti-slip surfaces, water greatly reduces friction. In an unstable position, losing balance can result in an inability to recover posture, leading to severe head or spinal injuries, concussions, or fractures on hard tile surfaces.
Second is secondary accidents from falling into the water. Losing balance near the edge can result in an unexpected fall into the pool. Falling in without mental preparation can cause panic-induced drowning or collisions with nearby swimmers, potentially leading to larger accidents.
Such unusual postures can also unnecessarily draw the attention of lifeguards and interfere with their primary rescue duties. To ensure personal and public safety, it is important to maintain stable posture at all times on the poolside.
