@SantoroSystems You had 20 examples of disengadging FSD to prevent impeeding others that couldn't have been prevented by just tapping the acceleration pedle in a day? I havent had 20 examples of that in the ~10k miles of FSD ive put in since v14 and I do ALOT of city driving...

@SrSimon_Bolivar @RealDanODowd You dont "have" to pay attention. "Supervised" FSD currently gets in less accidents per mile than Waymo. The difference is that Tesla is still improving before they flip the "unsupervised" switch, cause when they do they'll have 1000x cars on the road able to drive than Waymo.

@congressdj Insurance driving doesnt kick in until 3 seconds after you disengage, so just use the breaks to disengage. It also doesnt ding you for being parked or going behind a car, so you can disengage at a light no issue. I do this and ive got a 97 score.

@bitcoinphil1 @tesla_na No. Robotaxi costs $1 per ride + $1 per mile and owners get 70%. Owners could charge @ home once a day to 80% so it can still do 200(+) miles. Rideshare data says thats 140 paid miles X $.7 = $98, so ~$3000/month if you do it lazy/passively. Unsupervised FSD will be > $298/month.

@tesla_na Any bets on how long after this that Tesla is going to start taking Cybercab orders? 100% the reason FSD is going away a purchase is Tesla doesnt want paid FSD on cybercabs, cause w/ $300-$400 subscription fees they could give them away and still make money lol

@DBurkland 100%. @Elon said - 500 current active robotaxis + it should double every month. In thousands/months: 1/2/4/8/16/32/64/128 and then 256,000 in December. Robotaxi also starts coming off the line in April, the Feb 14th removal of FSD = Preorders of Robotaxis to immediately follow.

@Teslaconomics I bet there are going to be tiers of FSD in the future.
1. $399 - Unsupervised + Robotaxi mode enabled
2. $199 - Unsupervised + Robotaxi disabled
3. $99 - Supervised (unknown scenarios will not use external human/DOJO takeover from FSD for edge cases
4.$0 - FSD enabled 4 safety

@DiehlCL @elonmusk Elon said he did not want to maintain two code on every car and Autopilot is now a function of FSD. This also streamlines FSD to become better faster. I imagine once FSD supervised is solved Tesla will figure out how to make FSD limit itself just to what autopilot did for free.

@wholemars The problem is it goes against Tesla's core principles. In 2022 @Elon said "At the point of which you believe that adding autonomy reduces injury and death, I think you have a moral obligation to deploy it even though you're going to get sued and blamed by a lot of people."

@elonmusk For those of us who already own FSD in full, will our cars be grandfathered into the equivalent of the highest tier of FSD if FSD goes into a tiered system?
Such as $99 = supervised, $199 = unsupervised, $399 = Unsupervised and can Robotaxi, we would get Unsupervised/Robotaxi?

@TeslaJoy @nikkharris @DBurkland @brandonee916 @elonmusk As a HW4 owner, I'm looking at the HW4.5 (that currently costs $2,200) and thinking that HW3 owners are going to get upgraded to HW4.5, and I'm going to be the one stuck with HW4 or paying 22 hundred extra to for the best FSD. We don't know where the line will be drawn yet.

@TeslaJoy @DBurkland @brandonee916 @elonmusk Elon already said they wouldn't begin the upgrade process until unsupervised FSD is completely solved AND if it's necessary to upgrade the hardware. Completely solved will look like everyone who can be unsupervised is unsupervised.

@TeslaJoy @elonmusk I believe Elon's promise to retrofit any "FSD purchase" Tesla with any upgrade will last forever. I do not believe that Tesla wants any HW5 products to be lifelong, but 3 and 4 will likely be upgraded to HW4.5 if it's needed to have true unsupervised FSD, as we helped Angel it.

@wholemars Im guessing they wont. Preventing owning fsd on HW5 as a goal makes sense. Elon always said ideally it would be subscription only, or the buy price would be crazy like 100k once FSD is solved. Tesla now has enough on the road FSD will be solved without need for more full sales.
