I know you probably won’t read this, but I feel compelled to say this anyway. You are toxic. You are academically unserious, and probably so deluded at this point that you have no hope of ever becoming a rational human being again. It saddens me that you have any sort of academic standing. This world will be right when people like you don’t have jobs and instead live in the squalor you deserve.
I love my country. I love western values. It is plainly obvious to me that we exist in the greatest civilization that ever existed. Losers like you do not deserve our shared birthright.
@yitzzzzz The irony of sounding alarm bells about a practice that you think is wrong and needs to change then refusing to elaborate to an interested member of your audience.
Hey I think you might be the problem, dude.
@gsrobins@theoliverxp No he’s not. 15 minutes of paying attention to your family was not going to move the needle. He isn’t even trying to excuse his own behavior, why are you?
@matthewjuhren I’ve had this happen before. The judge went to opposing counsel’s website and read his bio out loud—specifically the part about enjoying spending time with his family—then ripped him to shreds for opposing the extension. It was awesome.
@NWischoff Is it normal for a VC GP to be this retarded?
Who wouldn’t want flexible hours and projects they can just drop into at their pleasure? This just isn’t how it works.
@benshapiro Or maybe this is a really tough situation with high stakes and no clear answers and everyone is acting out of various levels of fear? It’s not like we don’t have precedent for this. This is basically the digital version of gain of function research
For what it’s worth, I don’t care if you were forced to do this or not. Your decision to accept consequences and put this message out there shows me that you’re at least maybe open to the idea that you did something wrong. If this turned up in a background i would not hold any of it against you. So, at least from one man who you initially pissed off, i forgive you.
I hope you take the time to understand that we loved Charlie because he was so willing to reach out to the other side and talk. To try to persuade you to come back to the way of life that will make you happier. We all want that.
You can disagree politically but if you rewatch Charlie’s videos with that in mind, you’ll see that his behavior was actually very consistently gracious. The man did not deserve to die for that. It is a terrible tragedy that he did and we are all heartbroken about that.
This feels like the Nostradamus effect to me. Wouldn’t it also be relevant to know how many other similar warnings were given about other threats, and what happened to those? If this was one threat in a sea of thousands of similarly-credible threat that didn’t come to pass, then this isn’t a fair criticism. @grok have there been any analyses that address this?
@emmma_camp_ I’ve been watching you since your early Reason days, so i feel especially qualified to hypothesize that your meteoric rise was not from the WSJ article. It’s because you lost the glasses. You look ten years younger now.
Konstantin my man I’m right there with you in terms of what I choose to do with my children, but people on both sides of this (and many other issues) insist that the other side is ruining their kids. Both are probably wrong. I doubt this makes much of a difference. Source: I let my son cry it out once and he woke up th next morning perfectly happy.
@WageHourLaws The problem with this article is that it is an obvious setup for the lawyer to be the one analyzing your data. Lawyers are not good at analyzing data, no matter what they tell you.
@ecobee it is really annoying that the outside temperature disappears from the thermostat when it detects motion. Can you please please please update the thermostat UI so I don’t have to stare at my thermostat standing completely still until it goes back to the standby screen?
