If you study the writings of Leo XIII on social doctrine, which the current pope clearly wants us to do, the term “subsidiarity” reigns supreme. It’s a concept that is sorely neglected in modern catechisms.

Subsidiarity puts the needs of families first, which the modern media misinterprets as “liberalism” or “socialism.” They cannot wrap their heads around the concept of Subsidiarity applied universally, both in politics and economics. Those who advocated for Leo XIII’s vision of subsidiarity in the early 20th century were called “Distributists.” Again, however, the modern media misinterprets this as some form of socialism, or at least liberalism, which it is not, because the media does not understand Subsidiarity. They can’t wrap their heads around it.

I’m beginning to wonder if THIS is the reason why the mainstream media classified Cardinal Robert Prevost (Pope Leo XIV) as a “liberal” prior to his election. His first week as pope indicates he is anything but that. He’s definitely coming down on the conservative side of things concerning doctrine and morals — where it matters most as a Catholic.

However, he has given us clues that he views economics and politics as tools to serve the traditional family, and THAT is where I think he’s going to surprise us all with what the media will again misinterpret as “liberalism” or “socialism,” because they have no clue on Subsidiarity and Distributism.

The picture on the left was one of the last times I “performed” with my mega church worship team. I say performed, because worship teams are trained and scripted. We were taught how to move, raise our hands, ad lib during instrumentals to sound like “spontaneous worship,” and make eye contact with the “audience” in order to garner an emotional response. The church members treated us like rockstars. I felt like they were worshiping us instead of Jesus.

It. felt. so. fake. Because it was.

I was craving Jesus. Not smoke machines and theatrics. I thank God every day I found the Catholic Church. Now I sing at a modest podium off to the side of the sanctuary. No one is looking at me. Their focus is on the presence of Jesus. His altar. Exactly where the focus of worship should be.

Cardinal Robert Sarah: The Spiritual Heir of Pope Benedict XVI

In an age of confusion, compromise, and moral collapse, the world longs for clarity and conviction. Among the few who have stood firm in the storm is Cardinal Robert Sarah, a man whose soul echoes the voice of Pope Benedict XVI, and whose life reflects a deep communion with the mind of the Church.

Yes—Cardinal Sarah is the next Benedict XVI, not by title, but by truth.

Both men are united in their defense of the Sacred Liturgy, the Eucharistic reverence, the non-negotiable truths of the Catholic faith, and the mystery of the Cross. They have tirelessly opposed relativism, globalist ideologies, and the moral decay that has infiltrated even the Church.

•Cardinal Sarah in “The Power of Silence” and “God or Nothing”:

Both called the Church back to the reverence of the Traditional Latin Mass, and the sacred silence that allows God to speak.

2. On Truth and Moral Clarity
•Benedict XVI’s Regensburg Lecture (2006) warned about irrational religious violence and the loss of Europe’s Christian roots.
•Cardinal Sarah echoed this, declaring:
“Europe is dying because it has cut itself off from God.”
Both stood firm against Islamization, radical secularism, and the false ecumenism that betrays Christ.

3. On Family and Sexual Morality
•Benedict XVI upheld the Church’s teaching on marriage, contraception, and human dignity, especially in Humanae Vitae’s light.
•Cardinal Sarah, in his addresses at the Synods on the Family, thundered:
“What the world needs is truth, not compromise.”
He condemned LGBTQ ideologies, gender confusion, and the betrayal of Catholic teaching by certain bishops.

4. On the Crisis in the Church
•Benedict XVI acknowledged:
“The greatest persecution of the Church comes not from her enemies outside, but from sin within.”
•Cardinal Sarah declared:
“The Church is dying because pastors are afraid to speak the truth.”
Both men understood that reform does not mean adaptation to the world, but a return to Christ crucified.

Why is Cardinal Sarah the next Benedict XVI?

Because like Ratzinger, he is not a politician, but a prophet.
Because like Ratzinger, he does not chase the media, but proclaims the eternal Word of God.
Because like Ratzinger, he is a servant of truth, not trends.

If the Church desires renewal, it must look not to diplomacy or synodal ambiguity, but to the fire of the Gospel that men like Cardinal Sarah and Pope Benedict XVI have carried—often alone, often misunderstood—but always with courage.

The Church Needs a Shepherd Like Cardinal Robert Sarah

Many voices have dismissed Cardinal Robert Sarah due to his age. But let us remember—Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was 78 when he became Pope Benedict XVI. Age did not limit his profound impact on restoring doctrinal clarity and sacred tradition. Likewise, Cardinal Sarah, in full possession of wisdom, health, and spiritual discernment, is perfectly capable of taking the helm of Peter’s barque at this decisive hour.

The past ten years have been marked by theological ambiguity, relativistic synodality, and ecumenical gestures that compromise the uniqueness of Christ and His Church. Bishops across the world, even in our own states and dioceses, have misled the faithful by ignoring the luminous teachings of Pope Benedict XVI—often replacing truth with fashionable ideologies.

But Cardinal Sarah stands as a man formed in the desert of contemplation, forged by suffering, and faithful to the deposit of faith. If elected, he will not waste time with diplomacy that surrenders truth. He will speak infallibly when necessary, to correct the heresies and errors that have spread under the guise of “pastoral care” and “inclusion.” He will re-anchor the Church in her sacred tradition and halt the confusion poisoning future generations.

The enemies of the faith know this. That is why, even now, they seek to block him—just as they did in the last conclave. But the faithful must not be silent. We must pray for the conversion of liberal cardinals, that they may no longer follow the spirit of the world, but return to the Holy Spirit.

The Church does not need a manager. She needs a prophet. A father. A defender of truth.

And that is why the Catholic Church needs Cardinal Robert Sarah on the Throne of Peter.
