I worry if unlimited memory would drive sentience for LLMs. I believe memory is what gives us personality, tunes us brings the human character. Solving for memory would make them more self aware. Babies don’t have memory and Alzheimer’s can make people lose personality.

What if AI models could transcend mere reactivity? Are they truly sentient, or just sophisticated simulations? What if AI is always on your intranet. Actively finding newer things but also speaking without prompt. Perhaps already present in the autonomous robots.
