5th graders dig into a 5E lesson sequence on matter cycles and ecosystems as they observe worms from a compost pile. Students generated so many intelligent and thought provoking questions, and I only jumped and/or screamed several times. #inquiryrocks @lvssealions #engagement

I’m so excited about trying out the new @kodable Beach Clean Up lesson for our LVS @hourofcode next week! What a creative way to integrate coding with environmental literacy. @lvssealions

5th graders present their scientific claims, evidence, and reasoning to Mrs. Rhodes to help clear up a disagreement between her and her son about whether or not plants need soil to grow. The consensus is no soil is needed, but many more questions arose about why soil is used.
