Thornaby FC can confirm that Laura Wareham has departed the club.
Everyone at the club would like to thank Laura for her contribution during her time with us, playing her part between the sticks in a memorable season that saw the team secure promotion to the FA Women's National League and lift the Women's County Cup, making some huge stops and leading from the back.
We are grateful for her hard work in a Thornaby shirt and wish her every success in the future.
Thank you, Laura. 💙

Thornaby FC would like to thank everyone who has viewed, liked and shared our campaign launch.
Unfortunately, we are yet to recieve any sort of response from the North Riding County FA.
Page 10 of North Riding FA’s Diversity & Inclusion Plan states girls’ cup competitions should be delivered ‘in line with the boys’ competitions.’
Men’s cup final: Riverside Stadium.
Women’s cup final: Calvert’s Stadium, Northallerton.
All we are asking for is a public commitment that this will not happen again.

CLUB STATEMENT
Thornaby FC are disappointed to learn that the @NorthRidingFA have elected to hold the men's and women's County Senior Cup finals at separate venues this season.
The failure of the North Riding County FA to ensure that both senior finals are played at a venue of equal standing is something we simply cannot accept.
Despite asking the questions multiple times, the County FA have also failed to explain what process or methodology was used to place the Men's final at the Riverside Stadium and not the Women's.
Our senior women's side reached that final through the same effort, preparation and commitment as any other finalist in the competition. To stage their final at a lesser venue sends a message that their achievement carries less weight. It does not.
Thornaby FC reject that position, and we believe the North Riding County FA's own equality guidelines support us in doing so.
We are therefore calling on the North Riding County FA to make a formal commitment: all future senior county cup finals will be held at the same venue, for both the men's and women's competition.
The Men's final between Boro Rangers and Yarm and Eaglescliffe at the Riverside Stadium was a fantastic occasion, and both sides were fully deserving of that stage. That is exactly the point. Equal competition deserves an equal occasion, and we simply ask that the Women's finalists receive the same.
This call stands regardless of our own involvement in this season's final, or any future season's.
We raise it because without a clear commitment from the Association, the same situation will arise again.
We ask the North Riding County FA to put that on record.
