This is difficult to share, but I hope it helps someone who might be struggling with depression. #bandaids4life

Miracles are a mysterious meshing between human effort & godly intervention. While God is the power behind all miracles, He often calls us to 'faith in action' to prove our trust in Him. What's your act in faith? #ValleysOfLife Joshua10

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

If you've created "trouble" in your life because of hidden sin, you don't have to stay there! Be cleansed by confessing it to God. (It's better to confess than be caught.) Then, stick to truth & don't lift your soul to what is false. (Ps24:4) #ValleysOfLife Joshua7

Failure doesn’t have to be the end of your story. God can take your failure and create beauty. No matter how bad you think it is, His grace can make good of any mess! #ValleysOfLife

It was an honor to have Coach Knight and @OuachitaFB with us in worship at @mysecondbaptist and for lunch. @OuachitaTigers @Ouachita

Getting a chance at a New Beginning will always test your trust in God. But if you shrink back by letting fear or doubt control you, you’ll always be exploring options but never experiencing newness. If God leads, you must move forward in faith. #ValleysOfLife Num13&14

Victory in life comes from an unwavering FAITH in Jesus. Even when circumstances are unfavorable, you can have victory if you focus on what Jesus has overcome: sin, death, illness, shame, guilt, lies, etc. Let FAITH (not sight) lead you! #LightAndDarkness 1Jn5:4

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

Accurate doctrine without obedience is a fake faith. Biblical confessions don’t hold water if you don’t practice your doctrine. #LightAndDarkness 1Jn4:2, 6

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

What you practice, not what you claim, proves who you follow. Those who follow Jesus, practice purity & righteousness. Those who follow the devil, practice sin. #LightAndDarkness 1Jn3:7-9

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

The snares of Satan are baited with lies. When U believe a lie, you will fall & bring down others. Never underestimate the power of 1 little lie! Instead, replace lies w/ Truth & abide in Truth! Abiding in Truth is your protection against Satan's traps. #LightAndDarkness 1Jn2:24

As a child of the Light, aim for Jesus’ teachings. And if you slip, aim for His mercy. You have an Advocate ready to stand for you. Come to the Savior & experience healing through forgiveness. #LightAndDarkness 1Jn2:1-6

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

It’s incompatible & dishonest to claim you are a Child of the Light but live according to the dark patterns of this world. You are not a Christian if you say you follow Jesus but do not practice truth. You lie. #LightAndDarkness 1Jn1:5-6

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

Darkness invades a culture when the validity of the Bible is in doubt. A decline in morality is closely connected to a detachment of the authority of the Bible in a culture. A genuine belief in the Bible can bring revival. #LightAndDarkness. 1Jn1:1-2

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

Contrary to popular belief, miracles are not to be self-serving. Miracles are not primarily for your benefit. They point to a biblical truth, aiming to prove the validity of His teachings so people will put faith in Jesus. #BeforeTheMiracle Mk1:21-28

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

How do you get Jesus to marvel at you? If you know someone in need of a miracle, go to Jesus FOR that person and let YOUR faith and confidence in God shine! Mt8:10 #BeforeTheMiracle

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

If you need a miracle, desperately & repeatedly "cry out" to Jesus like Bartimaeus. (Mk10:46-52) This kind of cry is a pattern that happens throughout the Bible BEFORE a miracle occurs. #BeforeTheMiracle

[Louis W. Heard @lwheard]

If given the option, none of us would choose to go through storms of life. We’d choose a safe, easy path. But without storms, we'd never see God's miraculous hand at work nor learn to trust Him. #BeforeTheMiracle Mk 3:35-41

Great to have alumnus @lwheard (‘99), Lead Pastor of @mysecondbaptist, speaking in chapel today! Welcome home!

Just as it was unfair for Barabbas to be set free, it’s unfair you received forgiveness. Unfairness in our favor is at the center of the gospel. Thank God for grace. That’s #Easter. #freed Mark15:11
