Coming from a competitively small farm, and seeing the work my Dad and Uncle (and now sister) do to keep it going - changing their way of life into regenerative farming and rewilding as well as diversification means it will stay in my family, hopefully for another 200 years. 1/2
This is absolutely outrageous from former Labour political advisor John McTernan:
“We can do to the farmers what Thatcher did to the miners. It’s an industry we could do without. We don’t need small farmers.”
But this is absolutely ridiculous. My family face the prospect of selling the farm house to potentially pay off the massive inheritance bill and farmers (inc myself) voted labour for the first time. How do they justify that?! @Perran4CRH
In 2023 @Keir_Starmer looked farmers in the eye & said he knew what losing a farm meant.
Farmers believed him.
After today’s budget they don’t believe him any more.

Here it is! First two @mtntraining Hill Skills courses available to sign up to.
Where?: Dartmoor - a historic, bleak and beautiful area that allows for explicit navigation and countless teaching and learning moments.
The Hill skills courses are for everybody to take part in (min age 13) and are a fantastic way to step away from paths and expand your knowledge, and horizons, of the hills and mountains.
These skills are invaluable and will set you up nicely to become independent in the hills
On degree class blocking ppl in teaching, I’ve seen interview candidates with 1st’s who couldn’t do the sheer fundamentals of managing a classroom, 2.2 candidates who smashed it. Blocking determined and gifted teachers because they didn’t excel ‘enough’ in academia is silly.
Recent Embley Tors training down to Dartmoor. A brilliant weekend in mixed conditions as students moved into distance shadowing along with some night navigation! A good weekend with some amazing views and learning
@HecticTeacher@MissHarri5@MrTs_NQTs Second this, having one that will support you in managing your time and helping you say no will make the world of difference depending on how your boarding house is managed
Lots of challenges along the way, time management whilst completing two/three FT roles has been important with some hard conversations “if you can be lost, you can always be found. Loved it, now ready to refocus and work on my PE prof development! ❤️
A few days until I stop being the Acting Head of OE at school, what a year it has been from an ECT with no knowledge of budgets to being an ECT mentor with a large budget running all forms of events, clubs, challenges, activities and leading change
Just had an email from Amazon telling me the latest @SimonScarrow Eagles of the Empire book was out - quickly followed by a fist pump in the air and a YES! I love these books 😁😁
I present … my home! Living away in Hampshire means we’ve put our home up on #airbnb. For those climbers out there - it’s only a stones throw from the Lizard, 30 mins from Chairladder. Surfers have poldhu right there! Check it out! @Airbnb #kernow https://t.co/lAfClBW3mH
