Yesterday we vaccinated our Elders. We started in ceremony, the Elders and matriarchs prayed giving thanks and for future generations. I got to give the 1st dose to my Aunty Dr Leona Makokis, while the Cardinal Family sang an honour song. We danced after. https://t.co/Qpz1K2BlYh
1/Friends! I created a website for sharing my work/projects and a space for resources on anti-racism in healthcare/education in Canada. Content is based on email FAQs I get from colleagues and learners. It’s a pilot: https://t.co/KhmA6hGQ8v @uoftmedicine@UofT_dlsph@UofTMed_OID
Health systems are a tool for upholding white supremacy.
He pleaded for help with every breath and they forcibly dragged him from care. ‘Failed him’ is an understatement & an apology is not enough. We need anti-racist mental health services led by Black & Indigenous folks now!
Setting the record straight, again. No one tells the Indigenous perspective & it pisses the mainstream societal narrative off so they call my work illegitimate- sick of it. So, here ya go @NatObserver

Our culture wounds people by its very nature. It then elevates some of those wounded people to ranks where they can cause further harm to massive numbers of others, as the traumatized often do. A closed circuit of pain, of which Trump is merely the most recent/blatant exemplar.
For Indigenous History Month, CBC commissioned Josh Mangeshig Pawis-Steckley, Asinnajaq, Mia Ohki and myself to create illustrations with messages for Indigenous Youth.

@SehjalB@CFMSFEMC Thank you for the warm congratulations and welcome! I am excited to learn more from some passionate students about how we can be responsible advocates and support meaningful changes in our communities.
Wishing a huge congratulations to the incredible @jess_froehlich for being elected @CFMSFEMC National Officer of Political Advocacy! I am so excited to work with you and to see what you accomplish ☺️ (A photo from our first NDoA in 2019!!)
I grew up on a farm and am all too familiar with the overinflated pride farmers take it their work. But, the colonial truth allowing for farming success on the prairies needs to be understood for decolonization of relations between farmers and indigenous people.
Before med school, I told my family that if they ever find themselves in the ER needing urgent medical attn, tell the health care workers that your close relative is a doctor, doesn't matter who in the family, just say it.
We shouldn't have to protect our health from biased care
10 questions for non-Black medical students to reflect on during this time ⚡️
Read aloud a version of these questions to 400 of my peers yesterday and was asked to share them publicly.
