I love her but all this Marinette angst is becoming overwhelming lol
and DON'T GET ME WRONG you know I LOVE angst and I love Marinette but it feels like she's the only one suffering from the consequences of the lie
we've had multiple scenes of Marinette breaking down this season, and the ONE scene that could have given us more insight into Adrien's emotional conflict happened OFF-SCREEN (when he destroyed Gabriel's statue)
we have a character (supposedly a main character) who lost both of his parents in less than a year, who was a victim of childhood neglect and abuse at the hands of one of them, who is now being gaslit, and who still doesn't even know the truth about his own magical origin, yet how many times have we actually seen him on screen this season that everyone keeps insisting is about him?
they had Marinette lose her grandfather (a very good ep btw but still) to explore themes like grief and change... while the orphan was standing right there
the issue isn't that Marinette isn't suffering or that she isn't affected by the lie, the issue is that there is no balance when it comes to addressing the trauma and pain of BOTH Adrien and Marinette
