'AUKUS IN TROUBLE, UK PROBE WARNS'
I mean, this was impossible to predict (apart from everyone who predicted this).
Pull the plug on AUKUS now @AlboMP

I may be mistaken, but I believe I am the first person working off the tenure track to win this award in its half-century existence. I hope this will help put to rest the myth that historians struggle to secure permanent teaching positions because their work is inadequate.
The classic Washington shell game. Whitehouse has never lifted a finger to challenge the largest polluters in the country with the fattest contracts - the MIC.
Time to keep both hands on our wallets as the creepy billionaires come to plunder our great country for their own personal and special interest reward.
Blue War Party Senator pretending Red War Party President is the corruption threat while exactly describing business as usual for pillaging War Profiteers under both.
"There is no intention of allowing the residents of the northern Gaza Strip to return to their homes” - Gen Itzik Cohen of the Israeli military.
This week, while American media focused on the election, the Israeli military announced its goal of permanently removing Palestinians from their land in North Gaza. While the Israeli military’s plan of extermination has been clear for weeks--and is the continuation of a year of genocide and decades of displacement and occupation—this official proclamation of permanent ethnic cleansing by the Israeli government amounts to the war crimes of forcible transfer and the use of food as a weapon.
For over a month, Israeli forces have imposed a siege on North Gaza, executing its “general’s plan” to force the 400,000 Palestinians in the area to either leave or die. The Israeli military has cut off the region to all aid, and no food or water has entered since October 1. Horrific footage has circulated of Palestinians blindfolded and detained by the Israeli military. Israeli forces continue to target schools and hospitals, bombing anywhere that can be used as a shelter. Just last night, Israeli airstrikes killed 30 Palestinians sheltering in a school in Gaza City. Palestinians in North Gaza are facing the harshest conditions since the start of the Israeli military’s US-funded genocidal assault last October.
The Israeli government’s current extermination campaign represents the logical conclusion of Zionism, the political ideology that the Israeli state is based on, actively enacted by the Israeli government. Zionism envisions the creation of an ethnostate where Jews have more rights than Palestinians; under this colonial logic, Zionism requires forcing Palestinians from their land.
The end goal of the Israeli government and the Zionist project is loud and clear--the total ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homes. And our government’s complicity is loud and clear as it continues to fund the atrocities perpetrated by the Israeli military with our tax dollars.
Palestinians have the right to live in freedom and the right to return home. We demand that the US government ends its complicity and stops the flow of weapons now.
The Israeli army is denying the entry of water and food for the 34th consecutive day in northern Gaza. Only functioning hospital, Kamal Adwan, out of water (water tanks targeted by the Israeli army) and medical supplies. No rescuing services. Annihilation.
Lots of amazing folks have just started new faculty jobs, and it's prompted me to reflect on the last 5 years of my TT experience. So here are 15 lessons I wish I'd learned earlier as an academic:

A year of war has devastated Sudan. @ivorprickett and I spent nearly a month in the country recently. This is our first dispatch from the capital, Khartoum — the ground zero of a catastrophic conflict.
