The Russian embassy shared a statement yesterday calling on the UK government to "tell the truth" regarding the 2018 attack, and demanded "access" to Sergei and Yulia Skripal. Sergei, a former Russian military officer who defected to the UK, and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with the deadly nerve agent on March 4, 2018, and hospitalised.

Russia has said the poisoning was "exploited to undermine Russia-UK relations".

The Russian embassy claimed in a statement that the UK government in 2018 had "hastily assigned false blame to Russia" and "refused to liaise with Moscow on the issue".

The embassy also wrote in a statement issued via X: "Now, with the passing of time and in light of recent global events the true scale and significance of this provocation are becoming increasingly clear.

Russia knows exactly who orchestrated this terrorist attack. And it wasn’t Russia. Think we need to be looking closer to home.
