Let it be known that Liza is not to be grouped with the stereotypical Fil-Ams that try to homogenize Filipinos as just a monolith. She actually actively learned our culture and language, worked hard and knows our socio-cultural practices that many overseas do not.
Again, this is just pure entitlement, aka main character syndrome. Lemme reiterate, CONTEXT AND KNOWING WHO THE TARGET AUDIENCE IS, IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Period.
I’ve seen multiple people post some variation of this:
“Still can’t believe I got called racist for using nga. Mind you, it’s a fucking Filipino word.”
The intention is obvious. You’re posting it specifically to get a reaction from Black people so you can immediately hit them with, “It’s our language.”
The whole interaction is manufactured.
You already know what reaction you’re trying to provoke, and you already have the rebuttal prepared before anyone even responds.
That’s what makes it corny.
Other than that, we get it. Your language has words that happen to sound like a slur
@lxtinxmxmi@amara_hye@thiriumsucker and that word also meaning shit in our culture so we also have a right to be confused and pissy. she speak an entire conversation in English speak one word in that sentence that isn't that sounds like the n word and you don't think ppl will get confused?? English is the universal
hindi lang sa twitter umiikot ‘yung mundo, bakit sinabi ko ba na sa twitter ako natawag na racist? diba hindi? tangina bobo talaga pag account based sa united states
I hope Liza Soberano doesn’t stop speaking up about toxic filipino culture and keep pissing off the people who feel attacked or offended by it 😝 I need them to stay MADDDDD lol
