someday suppose that my curious nervousness stills into prescience, clairvoyant consciousness, I will be calmer than cream making maps out of your dreams
@HPbasketball I think with any superstar, part of the game is surrounding them with players who accentuate their strengths and hide their weaknesses (hello Jalen Brunson, Steph Curry). Luka just lost 2 years to poor matchmaking with his role players.
@HPbasketball Some of it is that he gets a pass because the Lakers trade was so weird. If he'd spent all this time in Dallas and had the same results, I think more people would be making the same argument you're making
@HPbasketball There's a big difference between being #13 and #1 on this list. I think he's hit an above-average outcome, relative to his pre-draft hype: https://t.co/8gwdCP061n
@Fullcourtpass@joevardon It's also not true - the Clippers were on probation for cap circumvention with DeAndre Jordan. The Bucks are not, which would presumably mitigate the punishment.
It'd be more accurate to use the Wolves and Joe Smith, but with Trent there's no evidence of smoking gun paperwork.
@Fullcourtpass@joevardon This sentence construction is disingenuous (at best).
If investigators find proof that @joevardon is guilty of what Jeffery Dahmer was guilty of, the punishment could be equally severe.
@HPbasketball Predicts slow starts for Miami, Wizards, 76ers, TWolves, Lakers, Raptors. Potential rebounds for Houston, Orlando. Nuggets have continuity, maybe they drop off less than we expect.
@HPbasketball I think there's an interesting analytics question here. My intuition is that the first N games a team plays together after a big roster reshuffle tend to underperform expectations. You'd predict these teams to be better in the 2nd half of the second, or in their 2nd year together
@NYPost_Lewis Sincerely curious: what is the point of these deals? Do they have partial guarantees? Are there union protections that apply to players who sign a contract, even if they're immediately cut?
