The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) 507 Infantry Brigade has successfully completed a five-month Advanced Infantry Brigade Training (AIBT) at the Combat Training Centre Gabiro in Gatsibo District. The training was designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and operational capabilities of infantry personnel, enabling them to effectively execute infantry tasks and accomplish RDF missions.

The APR Karate Team and the RDF Special Forces Karate Team joined other different clubs affiliated with the Rwanda Karate Federation (FERWAKA) men and women in the 2026 Genocide Memorial Karate Tournament held in Karongi District.

The one-day competition organised by the Rwanda Federation Karate brought together karate clubs from across the country to honor and pay tribute to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The launch of the Centre for Genocide and Conflict Studies also featured the unveiling of a powerful book, “The Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda: An Unavoidable Consequence of Criminal Policies and Political Crimes from 1959 to 1994” by Amb. Francois Xavier Ngarambe.

Participants commended the book for its clear and compelling account of the chronological stages through which the Genocide was orchestrated from 1959.

The book highlights the deliberate policies and actions of the genocidal regime that mobilized widespread participation, ultimately leading to the extermination of more than one million Tutsi.
