Hi Alfie - lifting the lid on this is horrendous work and sifting through these experiences must be grim. Thanks for amplifying these brave voices. I want to highlight that the more stories get shared, the silver lining has been the collective voice of male colleagues and allys getting louder around this issue.

To the lads - your response is arguably most important in this discussion as it is ultimately you who will turn the tide.

Calling out the abuse as it unfolds it is not enough. It starts out hidden in plain sight, within inside jokes in the brew room and in the group chats we aren’t included in. Find the bottle to call out those repetitive red flag jokes or remarks because these creeps landing a laugh is the gateway to confidence building for further advance.

Females left to call things out are often pushed out of the click or sidelined by labels of ‘no fun’ or ‘sense of humour’. Keep having the backs of ALL colleagues in the rooms they aren’t in, and help stamp it out in spaces we aren’t there to do it ourselves. This is appreciated so much more than you know❤️

Ps - if this gets shared, shoutout to the reg WO2 based in North West who spent years not just gaslighting/grooming/pursuing young and vulnerable reserve soldiers under your care, but boldly bragging about it too… I hope you see this. I hope embarrassment and shame consumes you from the fact your friends and colleagues will see this too and picture your slimy face.
