The Jax that, for just a mere moment, was finally getting to be at peace with herself. It's that version of Jax extrapolated through the rest of the series that's in the art Goose posted and the fan art the girlies are enjoying sharing.

I can see an argument that the way Jax is dealt with at the end of the episode is a bit cynical considering we're left with question marks as to whether or not she can return from abstraction and change into the person she is underneath the toxic mask.

I don't think anyone is defending what she did in the earlier episodes or anything of that sort. I think it's rather a mourning or encouragement of the person we saw a glimpse of prior to her tossing the bow to the floor.

this tracks with literally every character arc in the show. you can fit this into caine's story, gangle's story, definitely zooble's story, even pomni's story starts with her having to come to terms with being the person she is deep down while being forced into a bad situation.

I can't imagine a different director, even if it is Yoko Taro at the helm, writing Evangelion in a way that is satisfying. It's Anno's story. Let it be. That said, maybe this opens up Taro working with studio khara for some future NieR project or whatever and that could be cool.

Having seen all of the original series, End of Evangelion, and the Rebuilds and loved all of them for the unique ways in which they tell this story and Hideaki Anno's story as a writer and animation director, I can't say I'm looking forward to this.

No spoils of course, but the Rebuilds very definitively ended Shinji's story and on a note that I personally found incredibly satisfying and a beautiful reflection of Anno's career. At the end of the day, Evangelion is a series that is deeply personal to him.

Also yes they do and a partial reason there aren't more might have to do with the fact that surviving that long in a transphobic society which permits our deaths is actually kind of an achievement.
