Not so many books last week but a really strong line up with All The Sinners Bleed being 5 stars and I finally finished The Plantagenets which I've been listening to on and off since 2023! August's Buzzword is 'With' so kicking off Kill Them With Kindness.
@JanetEmson Cosy fantasy with romance: The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. Cosy fantasy: Legends&Lattes series (no.3 released in Nov). The Hobbit is a great intro for pure fantasy. Blood Over Bright Haven - academic fantasy(?!) - was my top read of 2024!
Oh dear, seems like I've got a new series to binge: Cara Hunter's DI Adam Fawley. Just read Close to Home & despite the digital pile of eArcs staring at me I only want to read book two.
Police procedural with mixed media. I love it and it's perfect duvet day reading material!
@bhw666sian I've not heard of that, I'll add that to my list - new series for after this one! Do like to have a police type series on the, finished ruth galloway and was looking for a new spot and now ive got 2!!
June's reading round up, only a week late! 24 books and 2 x 5 star reads with a solid stack of 4 and 4.5 star reads too. Happy with what I read, a solid mix of comfort reads, eArcs and a couple off my physical TBR.

2025 Weekly TBRs -
Weekly Goal: Progress not perfection/completion
Week 1 - 1/1-5/1
PTBR: The Almanac, How To Stop The End of the World
eArc: Helle's Hound, Water Moon
ABs: A Picture of Murder, Kamusari Tales Told at Night
EBs: The Sad Ghost Club 4, Murder Midst The Diamonds
Finally finished The Reformatory this week - what a stunning but difficult read! The Butcher's Daughter was a great surprise - I loved the ending! Excited to get to All The Sinners Bleed and Killer on the Road this week (hopefully, pending reading mood...).
@serialsemantic The one I would recommend avoiding in that case is the least of my scars, that one probably bothered me the most out of the 15 things ive read by home. I really enjoyed his short stories Parthenogenosis and Sterling City too and they're not particularly graphic.
@serialsemantic It's a great intro, has the layered themes, really unsettling but without the direct violence and gore found in things like The Indian Lake Trilogy. Night of the Mannequins is also one I liked, very weird and different to Mapping.
