I am not an EF apologist or think that the EF is perfect and can do no wrong, but I think it's worth highlighting some of the positive stuff they've done recently:
- Revived the @ethereum account (it's no where near good enough yet, but it'll get better)
- Moved 50k ETH into a new wallet to do stuff with DeFi
- Thinking about ways to solo stake their ETH
- Made leadership changes that should bring refreshed perspectives
- EF people generally being more vocal on twitter now
- Lines of communication are improving between internal EF teams and external Ethereum teams
- Vitalik donned a milady pfp
There will be more positive changes coming and I'm hopeful one of those changes includes Danny Ryan being involved somehow, but we shouldn't lose our heads here.
Ethereum is much bigger than the EF - it always has been - and we should work to uplift non-EF entities while also pushing for healthy changes at the EF (when needed).
We are all Ethereum!
Ethereum will have a great start for 2025.
The Pectra upgrade will enable EOAs to function like smart contracts, making smart wallets scalable and bringing better UX and safety for users.
The introduction of blob spaces will significantly enhance scalability. These will dynamically adjust blob limits through the Consensus Layer, improving Ethereum's DA scalability (both Mainnet and L2s).
Pectra being the largest upgrade in terms of included EIPs, it represents a monumental step forward.
Bullish.
