STRONG STORM POSSIBLE FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY
There is now a strong potential for a storm on Friday into Saturday with the risk heavy rainfall, flooding, Strong and possibly severe winds and snowfall. If this storm is named it will be called Darragh.
A developing low pressure system will move in from the Atlantic on Friday morning with heavy rainfall across much of the country with rainfall warnings likely with a risk of flooding through the day. Across parts of the northwest some of the rain may transition to snowfall during Friday afternoon and evening with some accumulations especially across parts of Donegal, Derry, Tyrone and Antrim.
Winds will the strengthening overnight Friday into Saturday with the risk of some severe and damaging gusts.
The UKMO model has very strong winds across the northwest on Friday night and Saturday morning so this will need to be closely watched.
