“There can be a lot of good that comes out of a bad situation… Joy doesn’t come without a little suffering.”
Wise words from @ZagMBB’s @corey_kispert. #UnitedWeZag
I'm hearing from many parents of young children of the heroic work teachers and administrators are doing to make the start of this surreal school year feel special. I'm not surprised. Educators are heroes. And are often left to fix the messes of the rest of society.
“It’s important to realize that it’s in the public health’s best interest for K-12 students to get back into face-to-face learning,” Redfield testified to lawmakers Friday. “There’s really very significant public health consequences of the school closure.” https://t.co/qiJ0sVR6hx
@bluskyz@stephennoel31 I’ve been taking care of these patients weekly since March as an RN & have yet to have a test. So I can’t imagine teachers will be tested unless there are symptoms.
@LloydLegalist It’s not about political correctness. Some of the best people I know are black & they struggle with discrimination daily. I listen to their personal stories & I know things have to change.
@DanRather You can’t tell people what to do even if it’s for the greater good because you might hurt their feelings & make them feel less “free”. I don’t like to wear a mask, but I do. If it doesn’t directly affect them, then it’s not their problem.
This is my father, George Romney, participating in a Civil Rights march in the Detroit suburbs during the late 1960s—“Force alone will not eliminate riots,” he said. “We must eliminate the problems from which they stem.”
This morning I woke up discouraged with what is going on in our country. But one of my bible study brothers encouraged me with this scripture. “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Gal 6:9
So. Many. Dead.
Each number had a name. Let us not forget or minimize pain and loss. Children without parents. Empty seats at Thanksgiving dinners. Laughter, smiles and hugs that will never be. Please share stories here and elsewhere. Death on this scale mustn’t be normalized.
