Author, professor, traveler. Writer of pop culture books and the just-published memoir, 'A Year in the Life of a Dead Woman: Living with Terminal Cancer'
Long time, no tweet. My 20th book, my memoir, #AYearInTheLifeOfADeadWoman, can help explain why! https://t.co/9Y8BvSD2wc It's frank, irreverent, and (I hope) helpful to readers who have cancer or know someone who does.
Yay! So thrilled #ClaireFoy won an #Emmy for #TheCrown. I binge watched to catch up a few weeks ago and loved Claire Foy and Matt Smith all over again.
#Emmys Lead Actor in a Limited Series is a tough category--lots of great performances. Congrats, #DarrenCriss. You played creepy so gloriously! Enjoyed your acceptance speech and the memorable look.
#BenedictCumberbatch is an exceptional actor and reportedly a diligent producer. #PatrickMelrose is a compelling drama. Those are true, no matter how the #Emmys go. To be nominated really is an honor.
And a long, serious overview of #Patrick Melrose by #BenedictCumberbatch in his E! interview. Love to hear him discuss his work but wish he'd talked about his role more and plot summary less. Still, glad to hear him live on US TV again.
I first enjoyed #Sherlock months later in the US, after receiving so many enthusiastic recs from UK friends. Happy UK anniversary, #Sherlock. Thank you for being such a huge part of my pop culture life. https://t.co/FZoyAa1xUq
Eight years ago today in the UK, at pretty much this exact moment, we sat down, got comfy, and were introduced to these two gentlemen for the very first time. A very happy anniversary to #Sherlock!
Lots of favorites getting #Emmy noms this morning. Just read the whole list. #PatrickMelrose covered lots of bases with noms in its "outstanding" limited series categories--actor, series, directing, casting, writing.
My only complaint about live musicals on US tv is the commercial breaks. Still, so glad that great performances in #JesusChristSuperstarLive can be seen by so many who couldn't see this musical on stage.
