I’m not crying…
In the midst of devastation, the residents of Toombs County, Georgia, gathered together yesterday to welcome and thank the linemen who left their families behind to restore power to their community.
This is the American Spirit. God Bless them ALL! 🙏🇺🇸

Acreage remains at 54,878 acres with containment at 98% due to the dangerous steep terrain along the fire perimeter.
Residents and visitors will continue to see isolated smoke from single tree fires well within the fire perimeter.
In addition to fire suppression, utility companies are hard at work restoring power, internet and phone service to areas affected by the fire.

#HurricaneHilary 🌧️ Water and electricity don’t mix. Water is an excellent conductor of electricity. Do not step in or enter any water that a downed power line may be touching. Follow these additional rain safety tips. https://t.co/YxX2p7JPXE
If a power line falls on your vehicle or in the road, call 9-1-1 and stay inside until trained personnel can remove it. NEVER touch a downed power line or attempt to move it yourself. #CALFIRE#emergencypreparedness#HurricaneHilary

It's National Lineworker Appreciation Day! #ThankALineworker today to help us celebrate and honor the hardworking individuals who help power our communities, businesses and homes.
Meet the QRF -- Quick Reaction Force. Southern California Edison sponsors this rapid response firefighting team to keep our communities safe.
🚁In 2022, the QRF dropped more than 700,000 gallons of water on more than 25 wildfires.
If you're thinking of heading to the beach over the next week to escape the inland heat, don't forget about the risk of rip currents! Rip currents are powerful channels of water moving away from shore. Make sure to swim near a lifeguard and if needed, yell/wave for assistance.
⚡ Ahead of #LineworkerAppreciationDay on July 10, we’re proud to spotlight one of our troublemen who recently responded to a dangerous situation and helped avoid a potential disaster. Read the full story 👉 https://t.co/jlqIYtT9LR
