📣Green Party U.S. Condemns Trump Attack On Venezuela💚
“The Green Party condemns the kidnapping of the Venezuelan President and his wife and demands their immediate release. We strongly oppose this illegal act of war which violates both the US Constitution and international law. Congress needs to immediately commence impeachment proceedings against Trump.
The Party also harshly reacted to the assertion by Trump that the United States will now be running Venezuela for the near term and if he faces any local opposition, he will send in a second wave of American military forces to subdue the population.
The Party urges the Senate to vote on the resolution scheduled for next week to halt military intervention. The bipartisan resolution only needs a majority to pass.
According to the CHARTER OF THE UNITED NATIONS, force is only permissible in response to an armed attack, or possibly to rescue a population facing an imminent threat of extermination.
“Trump is primarily interested in seizing control of Venezuela's oil and other natural resources. His pretext of seeking to protect Americans from drugs is ludicrous, especially in light of his pardon just a month ago of ex-Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was serving a 45-year sentence for drug trafficking. Congress must immediately convene to finally reign in this President who is ripping to shreds the Constitution and American democracy,” said Craig Cayetano, Co-Chair for the Green Party of the US.
“The White House National Security Strategy document released in November 2025,outlined what Trump considers a priority - focus on the Western Hemisphere - which clearly looks like taking control of Venezuelan oil while at the same time attempting to thwart a socialist government,” said Cassandra Lems, Co-chair for the Green Party of the US.
The Green Party is committed to join with other groups committed to peace, justice and the rule of law to organize nationwide protests to free Maduro and his family and to stop this illegal war.”

Thank you, President Trump.
Two months ago, your conservative friends were 25 points ahead in the polls. Yesterday, they lost.
It only took 100 days for you to convince Canadians that the far right has no place in government.
Americans will say the same in our next election.
Four years ago I wrote my inaugural poem The Hill We Climb. Both when I wrote it and performed it, I did so while continuously reflecting on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Coretta Scott King’s legacy. I was (and am) blown away by how my words reverberated around the world; if anything, it proved to me that we honor King’s dream, by daring to dream big, and by, most importantly, daring to dream together. Only then will the loving fantasies of our better nature transform into reality. The work and fight for the dream persists, and what’s more, it is not just a fight, but fate—that perhaps we are as destined for this time as it is destined for us. What a worthwhile, powerful calling only we can answer. Here with you in the hill and the climb, and whatever light lies beyond, whatever light lies within.

Fossil fuel giant @WoodsideEnergy’s last ditch attempt to develop a massive gas field under the pristine Scott Reef is to use offshore carbon dumping - which has never before been attempted in Australia.
This project is absolute madness & must be stopped! https://t.co/3op7yuAuhB
This is @walabor: Premier @RogerCookMLA bragging that his gov is ferociously lobbying @tanya_plibersek to roll back federal nature protections!
West Australians love our beaches, our forests, our unique wildlife - yet our environment minister @ReeceWhitby is flying to Canberra to lobby AGAINST protecting the places we love.
This says all we need to know about a state gov that is working for companies like @WoodsideEnergy not our WA community!
@bradpettitt This is surely "low hanging fruit" when it comes to reducing the cost of living and WA's carbon footprint. Why isn't the economic powerhouse of the nation investing in energy efficient housing?
The follows announcements in NSW, ACT, Vic, SA, and the NT, all of whom are investing in public housing to make it more liveable and cheaper to heat and cool.
But WA, the richest state, is missing in action on funding these upgrades to public housing.
WA, wait-awhile
A human-induced triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste is pushing nature to the breaking point.
But it’s not too late to turn the tide #ForNature.

Our nature laws are broken & work in favour of fossil fuel interests: How can @AusConservation compete with that??
Particularly when fossil fuel giant @WoodsideEnergy has a whole floor of lawyers working for them
But while Woodside has the $ and the barristers, we're the ones on the right side of history here.
They will lose this war for new fossil fuels. We won't give up #NoNewFossilFuels #StopWoodside https://t.co/wp0FTYcU4T
Did you know that the WA Government is taking $1 million a year out of funding for the WA Bicycle Network- a decline from $8m to $7m annually.
This comes as construction costs have spiked 20% over the past three years, making the decline even greater in real terms.
URGENT: Within weeks the Commonwealth & NT Govts must decide whether to renew the Jabiluka Mining Lease.
Back in the 90’s lead by Mirarr Traditional Owners, thousands (including the Oils) gathered @ Jabiluka to protest mining & urge the site be included in Kakadu National Park.
The mining was halted but the lease remains on Aboriginal land. Within the borders of Kakadu, incredibly it includes Madjedbebe - the site of first known human occupation in Australia.
Traditional Owners and communities are still waiting for Jabiluka to be fully protected. It is now long overdue for Resources Minister King to act.
"Government plans to mobilize bulldozers to clear for road in last month's of their term" rings a bell. Never before has the term "Laborials" been demonstrated more clearly. Labor/Liberal, they are both captured by political donors and have abandoned the values we elect them for.
The WA government is proposing to widen Anketell Road as part of the plan for the outer harbour at Kwinana before the outer harbour has even been approved.
Even if approved it won’t be operational for another 20 years so why the rush to clear more urban bushland?
