@Meta my Facebook account was hacked on March 30, 2026. The email address and password were changed and I did not receive a notification. The hacker created a fake drivers license with an AI generated picture of me to use for verification purposes with Facebook and my friends.

@Martinshophie67 @Meta I just don’t trust anyone. I’ve contacted a few folks here and they all want at least $300. I’m 66 years old and feel violated and like everyone is trying to take advantage of me.

@Meta Part 4: I’ve asked for help all over the place but only get response from scammers who want hundreds of dollars to help recover my account. @meta, why are you protecting a hacker, but banning a legitimate person?

@Meta Part 3: I created a new account which got suspended for violating community standards after a request to verify my identity. Meanwhile, the hacker has full control of my original account that I created in 2009. There is no way to contact anyone.

@Meta Part 2: the hacker starting posting information about a made-up family member and selling their property to entice my friends to put deposits down on vehicles, trailers, jewelry, etc. I’ve tried all of the procedures for recovering my account but nothing works.

@lhidylaura I’m very nervous about contacting anyone for help. A lot of info I’ve found requires payment upfront and then monthly subscriptions that are hard to cancel. I’m scared to trust anyone now.

Part 4 - the hacker also created a fake drivers license with my picture and sent it to my friends as verification that it was supposedly me. I’ve reported this to my local police department, Dept of Motor Vehicles and the https://t.co/wQacrn8dXc website.

Part 3 - none of the help or support features of your platform do anything to assist the original account owner but definitely protects the hacker. There’s no way to chat with anyone or speak to a person. I can’t access any of the pages I manage.

Part 2 - After my Facebook account was hacked, I created a new account which has now been suspended for “violating community standards”. I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong, but am suspended, but a hacker has taken control of the account I’ve had for 17 years.

Hey Facebook. Someone hacked my personal account & changed email & password then made a post about moving an uncle to a nursing home and selling all his property. This has been reported as fraud but declined by Facebook as “not violating community standards”.
