I guess, it’s doable for an irl convention, given enough time for a donation window. And if it doesn’t raise enough, the money can still be spent on better hotels and spaces and whatnot.

I personally prefer the old way. It shows how old the version is in relation to itself, which just shows its age better in my opinion. And also, this allows to have the charm of having major V.0 updates without forcing them to happen every year.
