The longer I think about it the more annoyed I get to be honest. And not at gooseworx or anything, but at all the people who kind of refuse to see the very obvious implications about Jax.
We've got:
- jax feeling comfortable with the maid outfit to the point where one of the one in their head wears it "as a bit, to show he doesn't really care or as a joke", something that very often happens with trans women who either deny or don't realize their transness yet (which often leads to the femboy phase).
- projects the "gayness" on other people who question him (calling another version of him a f***t).
- the trans writer using the "i'm just an egg that needs to be cracked" metaphor, which she could very well replace with any other metaphor to avoid confusion.
- speaking of eggs, the "egg with question marks" painting in the credits sequence
- something "deep and personal" that jax told his mother, which she laughed off and berated him for.
- right after that we get the bow on head which makes him blush, with ribbit saying "your secret is safe with me".
- the entire section where the song "Isn't she lovely" when a montage of different scenes with Jax plays.
This last one in particular annoys me so much because what do people even think - that it's referring to Pomni? Someone else? That it's played for no reason?
It's just so in your face I REALLY feel like people who refuse to see it have to be either very disconnected from the transgender experience (but in that case I would urge you to try to learn about it and keep an open mind about this stuff ❤️) or just transphobic.
@PrincipeNabo@Priscilla_Arts@Astra_Dreamer_ but it's not. Goose herself is a trans woman. Jax is extremely close to her heart and she put a lot of herself into him. Beliving anything else is wrong.
This.
I get so annoyed when people want to deny that Jax is quite litterally a big part of Goose herself, just in a character.
As writers/artists we tend to take inspiration from ourselves. She has been extremely upfront about this, and denying that is denying her.
The author of the show is a trans woman who revealed that the finale is deeply personal and Jax is molded on her insecurities but sure, we’re not supposed to take that into consideration

Jax is trans and some of you refuse to admit that because you want it spoon fed to you literally and in a way y’all are unintentionally being very transphobic
Hey guys, Kevin, CEO of GLITCH here. Been trying to figure out when and how to express this, but now I think is the right time:
To the fans - Thank you, deeply. You are the reason we got here. I know it can get noisy online sometimes, but the real-world reality is that you are some of the most genuine, kind people we have ever had the privilege of meeting. We saw every cosplay, every discussion circle, every sticker shared outside the theatres. That is what this is all about.
To every person at/with GLITCH - I never doubted you for a single second. You are all so incredibly talented, and I am so proud that the impact of your work is now being felt on a world stage.
To the industry - Animation and cinema is art. Art is human expression. Digital Circus was a deeply personal story created to express complex feelings. Please let that be the signal you take from all of this.
To everyone - Keep making things and keep sharing your work. We found all our creators through the internet.
Now, here’s Pomni with her signature dance move.
(1/2) My hot take is that if you think Jax wasn't made explicitly trans enough, you're missing the point of the story. Jax is so repressed and traumatized that she can't get herself to come out. And Leeroy not coming out yet is because these things take time, I'm sure she'll get
I know it's free on YouTube but I really hope TADC gets some kind of Blu-Ray or DVD release with bonus features like the cinema intro and the Amazing Digital Recap, and some of the BTS work animators and storyboard artists have posted online
