@broadwaybabyto hypothyroidism too, and since I hit puberty hormones have been my curse. Since I've become disabled, on steroids and on many other "weight gain" meds with low mobility, my weight has just been a constant struggle. But that doesn't mean all symptoms should be blamed on 3/n
@kate_hemion@1goodtern I would be hard pressed to stay civil. "Covid" is very clearly a reference to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and is not referencing other coronaviruses. While the ideal is to avoid all illness, covid is concerning for many vulnerable and immune compromised individuals. Such ignorance. π
@1goodtern cause. In addition to being on immunosuppressants I also have NK cell deficiency. I nearly died in the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, and have worn masks since then. It's nice to have other people masking up now, too. I wish actual doctors wore masks. I see many many Drs - none do. π 4/4
@1goodtern loss, so gave up with diagnosis and just treated it. I'm now on multiple medications for my BP and best I can say is I faint less. Still get 65/45 with alarming regularity though. There needs to be so much more research on post viral effects. I still suspect covid was the 3/n
@Whirlwind877@spoonfulofhan It is beyond too much. It's almost a black comedy it's so bad lol. My rheum changed my main immunosuppressant for the first time in 15 years though, so I have some hope! I probably shouldn't though. π€£π It *is* exhausting. I'm so sorry you're in this horrible place too.
@Kenneth33071904 I'm immunosuppressed and immunodeficient with a very rare genetic disease. I nearly died in the 2009 H1N1 "swine flu" pandemic and do not want to get pneumonia AGAIN! The science is clear on masking, even for people without my issues. I don't understand why people DON'T mask. π€·
@Whirlwind877@spoonfulofhan I had three specialists appointments in two days only last week and was just completely done with everything. The level of complete exhaustion coupled with an absence of actual medical progress and plenty of uncontrolled pain just had me ready to sleep and not wake up. π΅βπ«π
@Glenn02936110 People are the same no matter where they come from. Two of my grandparents, my mother and my husband were all immigrants. Hubby got his citizenship 2 yrs ago after working hard, getting his CPA & paying his taxes. It was lovely seeing the happy people at the citizenship ceremony.
@PumpkinGlow7@ThePOTSPostman I have a rare genetic disease that is currently affecting my hands/arms and feet badly. Swiping text on a phone is possible for a short time but painful & makes it worse. I so understand your feelings on being unable to do the things you love. I *hate* the enforced idleness. π
@EmergencyBK I'm immunosuppressed and immunodeficient and wear my mask whenever I leave the house. But someone in my house doesn't, so I still get sick. Thankfully I've only had covid once. He's had it four times. π
@DiaryofaSickGrl Genetic single gene autoinflammatory diseases, like CAPS, FMF, TRAPS etc. Rare, deadly, often in young children and completely under researched.
@MrsFreedomWatch@TimHannan Seriously? I had three blood clot events in my 20s due to an undiagnosed genetic disease. I've been on various blood thinners since then and I haven't had one since. Without blood thinners I doubt very much I'd be alive. Hiking??? π€ Let doctors decide what is appropriate.
@Gnerphk So something tactile. Engage your senses. Air dry clay sculptures, finger painting, needle or wet felting, origami or something like gardening, volunteering outside etc. I've found that's the best advice I've actually used over the years. Engage as many senses as possible. β€οΈ
@La__Farfalla@PrognosticChats I've spent 6 weeks in hospital so far this year. I spend as much time as possible masked with an air purifier. In all that time I've only seen two staff in n95+ masks. I'm immunosuppressed & immunodeficient & the lack of masks plus clean air makes me angry. π
